Very nice bento lunchbox. I bought this for everyday lunches and for taking on flights to make my seatmates jealous while they eat their measly peanuts and pretzels (it worked better than expected, since not only my seatmates but even the flight attendants were jealous!). It is exactly as described by seller, leakproof for yogurt and dip and creamy stuff, not for soup. Yes, I tested it with water and when shaken it leaks, but if you take water for lunch, I think your diet may be a little too restrictive. ;) I double-checked volume of compartments and that info is accurate as well. Very sturdy plastic and construction for both tray and outer box, including hinges, as good as plastic is going to get. When empty the seal creates a vacuum strong enough to lift the tray in the lid when opened, but this DOES NOT happen when there is food in there weighing it down, so all is OK. Size is plenty good for an adult lunch, could even be a dinner for a not-too-hungry person. Latches are secure and easy to open. The shiny top is just screaming to be personalized with cool stickers. I wrapped a 21" bandana around it furoshiki style. Ordering another as gift soon.

So pink. This box is so, so very pink.This box looks like a decent size for lunch, even for adults. The large compartment could easily hold a sandwich or two, and the medium compartments are a good size for nuts, chips, pretzels, grapes, or other sides/snacks. The small compartment would be nice for dips.I checked for leakage by putting about a quarter-cup of water in the smallest compartment, closing the lid, and then first turning the box upside down five times, then tilting it side to side five times. There was a small leakage of water into the upper medium compartment, but that was all. The insert does say this is best for thicker liquids like dips, hummus, and yogurt, and not watery liquids like soups.I wouldn't pack soups in it anyway, as the inner tray is just that, a compartmented tray, rather than separate pieces. If you're going to microwave it, you microwave the whole thing. I would recommend using it for food meant to be eaten cold or room temperature. Also, given the all-one-piece construction, if you use the small compartment for dressing, you have to spoon it out, rather than pouring it.That said, the inner tray does fit rather securely in the box, and I like that it is dishwasher safe. I'll have to use it some more to find out if it retains smells, stains, or has other negative reactions, but for now, I think it's a very nice product and I'm excited to test it out more.I did not receive the two bento e-books mentioned in the listing.I received this product at a discount in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Leaks. I bought two of this brand bentobox for my kids' lunches. One has two latches, the other is a single latch. For some reason this double latch leaks real bad, while the single latch never leaks! Unfortunately, I bought it well before school started, so by the time I used it and discovered the leaking problem, it was past the return date. Guess it's just hit or miss if you get a leaky one. Still good for drier foods, or a little bit of ranch in the small portion, soeant make too bad of a mess. Cantaloupe leaked real bad and made mush out of crackers in separate spot.

This is a very solid, nicely designed bento. I use it for my kid's lunches - it takes up the entire lunchbox, but you can still slip a thin ice pack in there. It's just a little harder to get a squeeze pouch or anything else that doesn't fit inside the bento into the lunchbox now. The compartments are well designed and there's plenty of room in the biggest one for a whole sandwich. The side compartments work well for cut up fruits and veggies, or if you put something crunchy in one it stays that way. I like the idea of a dip container too.

This container leaks. I bought this for my elementary age child to take to school everyday. It is a decent size and is easy to open and close. The large section can fit a large sandwich and the two smaller size can fit a small portion of chips or fruit. The dip area is small and the only thing you could easily dip would be carrot sticks or something similar. I washed the container by hand and packed watermelon in one section and salsa in the dip section. The container leaked all of the lunch bag. The salsa and watermelon were not excessively wet so it is disappointing that it leaked. If you are only packing dry goods, it would be a fine container. I am returning the item since it did not live up to it's "leakproof" description.

First off I'm not much of a reviewer. I don't normally go out of the way to write anything special after making purchases, but with the quality of the product and service that I have seen from Mint Kitchen I feel it necessary. The Bento box arrived on time and was exactly as expected. I haven't gone as far as submerging it in water or anything, but my son's back pack is dry and that's all I need to see. The latch holding it closed is nice and sturdy as well. No accidental openings so far.Now here is why they get a fith star. Plenty of companies send over some generated email thank you with a request to positively review their product. Mint Kitchen sent over a thank you letter with complimentary PDF on bento ideas. Also there was no request to review!! All in all I am thoroughly satisfied with the product and will look for more products from this vendor in the future.
