Feather Styling Razor Black

I really like this! I’ve been cutting my own hair for 20 years but this is my first feathering razor. It’s easy and comfortable to use and made a huge difference with how easy it is to cut my hair (and my boyfriend’s). Love it.

I took Jayne Matthews DIY bangs and hair laying class and use this razor and my hair came out AMAZING! probably one of the best hair cuts I have ever had becuase 1) it looks GREAT and 2) I did it myself.The razor was very sharp and easily to handle and I LOVE that it has the rounded edges so you cannot cut yourself. It always makes me nervous to handle tools like this but feel great and super safe with it. Cannot recommend this product (and Jayne Matthews class) enough!

I started cutting my own hair six years ago. It started with scissors, but I often felt stifled and hemmed in by them. Over time I grew more comfortable cutting my hair but wanted something a little different than what scissors could offer.In came the sensitive and creative Jayne Matthews who recommends this razor for razor cutting. Before I had this razor my hair was long thick and heavy. I felt overwhelmed by both taking care of my hair on a daily basis and whenever I tried to cut my hair. Once I got this razor I was able to thin my hair out and create lovely “petals” (term coined by Jayne Matthews) of hair that free my hair up to be wavier again, but I get to keep the long length I enjoy.I look forward to “cutting” my hair now as it is a much more imperfect, intuitive, playful, and creative process. I have hair that genuinely feels like me for the first time in my life. The razor is wonderful because it has the protector and it cuts really well and smoothly. Having tension on the hair and having the hair wet is important. As is trusting yourself to learn how to use it over time and being creative in finding what works for your hair texture. It won’t happen overnight especially when we’ve been reliant on hairdressers our whole lives. It’ can be a wonderful process of learning to trust one’s own creative and intuitive abilities to give themselves what they truly desire.I would recommend this razor to anyone starting out in cutting your own hair. Have fun :)Update: I have also started to cut my partners hair, he enjoys having a more natural, soft and messy shape, unique to him. By using the razor I can highlight his features and natural soft curls. He is also starting to get comfortable using it on himself too and he too likes it so much more than scissors.

Best razor for curtain bangs and layers between formal cuts. I use this razor to maintain the cut and style inbetween appointments.

easy to use

I was hesitant to buy this item because they were similar items priced much lower. I couldn’t be more happy with this tool! My mom bought one of the cheaper ones and it was not as sharp or smooth when cutting.

When I’m doubt and you start comparing off brand feather razors to Jatai feather razors , don’t think about saving some money , just get the OG Jatai….. I bought an off brand one that came with the replacement feather razors because I thought , there’s no way there’s a difference because it’s such a simple concept…. But I was wrong, I tried to use the other razor on a client and I struggled cutting the hair and just simply shaving the neckline. So needless to say, I ordered my OG one that same day ! I’ve learned my lesson that saving money sometimes doesn’t save you money at all, I wish I would have just bought the Jatai to begin with ! 100000% worth it and this brand just does it right ! Ive been using the Jatai feather razor and the Jatai nape razor with their replacement blades for 13 years and I’ve never once had an issue or struggled to cut the hair , zero complaints! Just get this one, 10/10 recommend!
