Hodgman Caster Neoprene Cleated Bootfoot Chest Waders

I bought this item a couple months ago to prepare for a trip we took last month. I read the previous reviews, let them "de-gas" a couple days in the shop and then I stored them under our bed in our toy hauler. I wore these while fishing in the snake river in Oregon and Idaho, and in Cave Lake near Ely, NV. These things worked perfectly. I bought them according to my typical boot size (11) and the fit for me was perfect. Easy to don and doff, and very durable for kneeling. The cleated soles helped with slippery rocks and gravel. I like that there is a pocked on the front bib that you can put your hands into, and other things as well. There is also a knitted zippered pocket on the inside of the front bib that you can store items in as well. The waters I fished in were extremely cold, and even though I only wore shorts and "over-the-calf" socks, I stayed warm and extremely comfortable while fishing. I could have stayed in the water all day long if I hadn't limited out so early.

Solid product. I bought it 2 years ago. Regarding size I followed the chart and some of the advices in the reviewes. The size fit me well. It is not tight but slightly baggy. There is room for extra clotes underneath if necessary (or simply over). I use it 5-10 times in the fall for shore ocean fishing (surf fishing). It is warm in it even in October and November. I simply wear a pair of thin strech pants under it, a pullover, and a light duck feathers jacket over or under it. In September I wear it with no pants underneath. You need long sucks, above the level of the boots otherwise the top of the boots will bruise your calves. A little rough at the crouch but nothing major. The longer I have it and wear it the more I like it. It keeps me dry and so far there are no wholes in it or quality issues. I hope to use it for many years.Cons:- a little on the heavy side as it is expected- the boots have no padding so those are hard. Make sure to wear sucks.

As far as fit, I come in at 6 feet, 185lbs with a size 10.5 foot, and originally ordered the size 11. It was ok in the foot but too baggy in the sides and came up too high on the chest even when adjusting the straps to max. Returned that and got a 10, fits like a glove. Foot is snug with enough room for a thick socks, pant area is flush and sag free. I should also mention the return/exchange was easy and quick.Great flexibility and a sturdy boot. For two seasons I trudged through many rivers and lakes exposing these waders to the harsh elements and so far I am very pleased with the durability. Straps are solid in the shoulder with loops in the sides for a belt. It doesn't have a ton of pockets but it does have a nice large chest pouch. One important thing you need to know before taking these out is wear a thick, long sock underneath or something to cover the area of your leg where the boot meets with the pant. The inner lip of the boot will rub into your leg and chaff bad within a few minutes.Once these give out on me I'll probably get a set of waders with the boot separate but for now they are great and I would recommend highly to the moderate fisherman.

My very first waders to wade in and I really enjoy it. The only con about this is it takes a little bit of work to get in it. (I'm a slim body type) The hip area is a little tight so I have to kind of squeeze myself in it but once that's done, it's REALLY comfortable. I've wade in the river A LOT with these waders and so far no signs of wear or tear anywhere. I've slipped and fell in the river a couple times and no trouble. (only in 2ft of water). The knee pads/cushion is a plus! My knees definitely feels a lot safer. Boots are pretty solid and good but the bottom doesn't have the best traction but it gets the job done. True to size as well for the boots!

These are a great set of Waders. I've used them for 3 months now, and have had very little issue with them. Recently I wore them to the Upper Kern River. 50° Air temp, 45° water temp and I was warm as apple pie. Wear a set of long underwear underneath and your good to go!. My only complaint was in the boot department. If your gunna wear these for more than 2 minutes, you HAVE to get a set of boot sole inserts. Dr. Scholls or whatever brand. Other than that, no leaks, super comfortable and durable. Flexible and warm! Totally worth the money!

the lack of or zero insulation in the boot not equivalent to the wader materialthese are not suitable for freezing conditions although only tried on indoors the sole of the boot was too thin to walk on uneven ground let alone pebbles on a beach for which these were boughtI returned these to America and received my refund and excess postage quickly so no grumbles there

Good fit, well built

It look a little longer to get because it was back ordered but once we got it they were pretty impressive. My husband has never had any of this quality so he was really happy when he got these for his birthday.
