Wow! Beautiful golden brown tan! This is the best self tanner I've used! (And I've used several different ones)!

So I am overall pleased with this product. I am very pale and burn, no tan for this white chick. But this helps and looks great! I have done the skin cancer thing so I don’t do much sun bathing any more thus I need some color. So it arrived on time and nicely packaged, I exfoliated my entire body including face and shaved; as per reviews and videos. After I was good and dry I began applying the product. I put on the black latex gloves included and the micro glove applier. I started with my legs and just worked my way around my body. It gives you a color point to see so you can easily see if you need to blend more. After I got it all applied to my body I just rubbed what remained on the glove onto my face. So with the first application there was a noticeable difference. My husband didn’t know I had applied it and as I stood at the sink he went on to say how my legs had really gotten some sun. I laughed to myself and never told him about my fake bake. LolThat was until the next morning. So I watched reviews that aid you should sleep in it and let it dry over night before showering. So the next morning while laying in bed my husband says ummm you smell like Doritos. And this is very much the case. The product is pretty great, but despite what all the other reviews said, it smelles just like all the other stinky sunless tanners. Not at application but as it sits and drys. Other than the smell which fades with first bath you’re good. I did get a streak down my leg when I showered the next morning from the shampoo running down it. So soap seems to take it right off which could be good for some. So try not to get soap on my legs if I don’t want it coming off. And I have reapplied now several times after each shower. So it can be done quickly to freshen up the glow that fades over a couple of days. On day three I thought I’d want a little more on my face so I applied more; that was a mistake. It made my face very splotchy. I exfoliated my face and only touched the sunner parts you’d normally see some tanning on not just my entire face. That worked well since I wear no makeup at all ever. This is definitely a natural color. It doesn’t appear orange at all. So for that it’s huge! I’m in love with the product not the smell. But it’s something everyone should keep in their arsenal of beauty secrets. I tried it on my sister in law as well. Trying to share the tan. It’s worth the money and just takes a little tweaking. I’ve been wearing everyday to every other day for about a week now. Great product. If the smell were amazing I would have given 5 stars.

I have used FakeBake for many years now and will only use this brand because my ‘tan’ always looks so natural. One application is usually enough to last me a few days. I have olive color skin but I’m still pale, my legs are always pale due to lack of exposure.My steps are as follows:1) Exfoliate in the shower.2) apply a really good moisturizer. I use Palmers cocoa butter. Wait at least 30+ mins for it to sink in. You don’t want tacky skin.3) Apply using the glove they supply and rub in well. Be careful over knees, ankles etc.4) For my hands I use a big make up brush and some hand cream together with one shot of Fakebake and then apply to hand. Repeat for second hand.I stand in front of a fan to help ‘dry off’. I can usually get dressed fairly quickly but normally wear black, my choice. I don’t usually like going out with it on but will when I shower the next morning. Always moisturize after your shower. It will keep the color longer. It WILL come off on your sheets (we have white) but it always comes out in the wash. That doesn’t bother me at all. Best fake tan product in my opinion.

I love many aspects of this product and so desperately wish I could call it a flawless product but, unfortunately, it's flawed as well. I think the color this product provides is terrific. I absolutely love it! I get compliments all the time and am continually asked where I've been on vacation. The coloring is that good. It's not "orangey" like a lot of sunless tanners. Bottom line is that the tan it provides is really natural looking. It also smells great, which is an added bonus. As most people can attest whom have lots of experience with self/sunless tanners, the smell of some of these products is really bad...so much so that I've tried a number of these products that actually provide nice color but the smell is unacceptable and can ultimately be a deal killer. For some, this smell permeates everything and is just awful. Thankfully, this product gets a 5/5 stars for smell. I'd also give it a 5/5 stars for the actual color/tan that it provides.Now, the biggest downer of it all and the reason I have to give this product an overall 4/5 stars is that you will become an awful mess if you break a sweat or get wet. Don't even think about going into a pool or the ocean...especially a pool because all the water around you will start to turn brown and we all know what that will look like. So don't sweat and don't get caught in the rain because you will have problems. I hate that even if I break a small sweat, which for me is near my temples and the top of my forehead at my hairline, the color will start to drip off my face...a real bummer indeed! My face essentially becomes streaked and it's really embarrassing. I actually carry a dark hand towel and another bottle of the tanner in the glove compartment in my car for emergencies. When this happens you have to be able to wipe all the smeared color off your face and re-apply more tanner to look normal again. Also, forget about wearing white clothes too. I won't wear white shirts because the color smears on to the collar even without sweating.In the end, if you can stay completely dry, this product is fantastic! It's the best self-tanner that I have ever found. There are tanners out there that don't come off when you sweat or get wet and don't transfer to your clothes but I've never found one that's as good as this product. That said, I plead and implore Fake Bake to read this and hear my voice and act on this review. I beg them to fix this problem because if they do, they will easily get 5/5 stars all day long. They'd have the best product out there, hands down!
