Fiat 500: The Design Book

This book is hard to rate. As a USA Fiat owner I was hoping for more information on how the original 500 was used to inform the design of the modern 500. Well, there's a tiny bit of that. But the bulk of the book is about the 500X. There are also many pages of designer-speak translated from Italian bragging about lamp design, coffee machine design, etc.On the other hand, the book is chock-full of illustrations and sketches of various Fiat design elements. There's even a sketch of a new Multipla that looks more like the original than what they made in the 90's. The book itself is beautifully, almost lavishly printed.

Beautifully produced, well written, and very florid auto design book. Whilst it uses the classic 500 that becomes the modern one, and glosses over the hideous 500L, it is a a coffee table book for 500X owners, and Fiat aficionados in that order.

O livro não é sobre o Fiat 500, mas sobre o 500x, que sequer vende no Brasil. Aí já invalida totalmente a compra. Quanto ao conteúdo, praticamente não há texto. Muito pouca coisa e só informações óbvias. Nesse critério, melhor olhar a Wikipédia que além de ser gratuita é muito melhor. Quanto às imagens, umas poucas que sejam novidade, a maioria da internet. Quanto ao design, péssimo. Diagramação prosaica, manchas de texto sem margem, uns efeitos de pintura toscos do photoshop sobre as fotos... uma tristeza mesmo. Não vale remotamente a pena. Não comprem.

expected a lot better, more design as in the process etc, wouldn't advise this as a purchase
