Conjugated Linoleic Acid, also known as CLA, is a collection of fatty acids. Linoleic fatty acids (omega-6) are conjugated with a double bond at a point along the fatty acid. The use of CLA in dietary supplementation is primarily to support and encourage fat burning, healthy fat balance, and protein metabolism in the body. CLA's molecular signaling receptor family is known as PPAR, which is related to fat and glucose/lipid metabolism and said to interact in the body by reducing the storage of fats and promoting fat metabolism by skeletal muscles.
