If the sun is out, this thing will start a fire for you. I don't smoke, But I took a small piece of the tissue they wrap it up in, tore it into small shreds and place it into the holder. And within only moments I had smoke coming up and then red coals, that I gently blew into a flame. Awesome...I am officially adding this to the growing number of ways I can start a fire without a flame.
