We have two large senior dogs, a 14 year old GSD/Malamute mix and a 12 year old Golden Retriever. The Golden, especially, makes very poor choices in what he chooses to eat in the yard. We are always in the market for products that promote joint, coat, & gut health for both of them.Initial impressions: I was actually initially dismayed at the size of the package when it arrived. One of the supplements we use for our dogs comes in a huge tub and this would fit in it 3 times over. When I saw that I’d have to give my dogs one scoop per day because of their sizes, I was disappointed because I figured this would last me a week, at most.No, this isn’t the first time I’ve completely overreacted about something.The scoop is tiny! These are microscopic organisms! A heaping tablespoon is *not* required for adequate consumption so you don't need a huge tub of product to last you a long time.Packaging: The scoop that comes with the probiotic powder is in the canister and it’s very small. It had settled into the product so when I opened the package, it was buried. Completely buried. The canister is small & chock full of probiotics, so sifting around trying to find a tiny scoop wasn’t easy & I managed to spill quite a bit on the counter. The powder is so finely milled, think powdered sugar texture, it just went everywhere. Now, I’m a mess-maker in the kitchen to begin with, so maybe someone else won’t have this as an issue. It would be a big improvement, in my opinion, if the scoop was attached somehow to the outside of package.Application: For large dogs like mine, they get one scoop per day. We add the scoop to their evening meal. Smaller dogs get ½ scoop per day. The scoop is so small that it would be hard for me to accurately judge/get half a scoop but I doubt it matters much with probiotics & dogs.Results: I did take some time to learn about the health benefits of green-lipped mussel and I’m not really sold on it, frankly. The University of Michigan has a summary and links to the studies with human subjects (google "green lipped mussel benefits michigan"). I do think it probably factored into the cost which is higher than I would normally spend on probiotics for my dogs. We have used other probiotic powders with our dogs that don’t have the green-lipped mussel added to it for about half the price. Since I’m not sold on the benefits of that addition, this isn’t a product I would pay that much more for in the future. However, if it’s something you are interested in or have benefited from yourself, it may be worth a shot.Please use caution if you or anyone in your household has a shellfish allergy.Disclosure: I received this product at a discount to test & leave an honest review.

Very easy for me to give to my 3 doggies, the scoop is wonderfully useful. I gave it to them already for 7 days and no problems or concerns have arisen. They are eating comfortably and 'going' comfortably, too. I did receive this item complimentary for testing purposes and chose to give it to my dogs to help them 'go'
