Screws are easy to strip. Armrests will need extra attention. Cannot beat the price.
The chair is great. Folding mechanism works fine. Assembly is easy. Just time consuming. You will not find another chair for this quality at this price. The pre-seated threads for the bolts were installed with a hex key. If you accidentally cross thread the bolts, good luck! Don't and you will be fine. Cheap paint. It is flat and porous. Wood sap is bleeding into the paint. I plan to spar varnish mine. Otherwise the paint won't last very long. The description says the wood is hemlock. It is definitely some kind of soft wood. Arm rests are unstable. Plan on adding 3 longer screws through the top face of each. Use a countersink and glue. If you are really energetic, replace all the screws with rust resistant deck screws. I have seven more chairs to go. That's my plan for the rest of them. Not sure about the longevity of bolts, nuts and washers on the folding joints. If you are really really energetic.............

Terrible build quality
I ordered 2 and only one box had instructions. Although each box has a set of nuts, bolts, and mostly SKINNY WOOD SCREWS included, instructions are crucial. The wood screws holding most of it together are too small. The instructions correctly suggest to use a drill because there are so many, but even with my battery powered torque restricted (keeps it from over-tightening) drill, it often would make the wood give, meaning, you feel this tiny wood screw breaks some of the threads you're going into.Once assembled, it feels loose and creaks. You cant tighten more without ruining the holes. Its just a very cheap and flimsy wood. Not that the screws are better. My drill would cause the heads of the screws and philips bolt heads to "shave" off the stereotypical cheap quality metal bolts so often used from the parts of the world with the lowest quality control standards. While using a drill to screw in the screws and philips bolt heads, more often than not the heads would make it snow from the bit seemingly drilling into the head. For the price, I predict and hope 2 years of life and I'll be ok with it. I clearly bought this by mistake since I rarely, if ever, buy something this poorly rated on Amazon. My bad, but still...their bad. Definitely not for people over 200lb or planning to keep it more than a year.

Overall good, moderate size, slightly less durable than desired
Pros:-really like the smell of the wood out of the box-instructions are pretty easy to follow, each piece and fastener are labeled relatively clearly. With an impact driver and socket, can put it together in 20 minutes if you're flying, 40 minutes taking your time.-Collapsible design is smartly executed. Folds up pretty flat for easy storage. Not super light but not cumbersome or overly heavy.Cons:Pre-drilled hole accuracy is wonky. Seat, arms and legs are acceptably accurate. Back rest is a mess. Some holes are close to half an inch off. It ultimately doesn't matter that much as it doesn't affect the overlook or function of the chair, but the risk of splitting the wood increases while putting it together.-it should be about 20% larger. Adirondack chairs are meant to be a bit oversized, and this feels relatively tight on my frame (5'10", 200 lbs) and even my wife commented that she thought it should be a bit bigger (she's 5'7, 135 lbs). Still comfortable, just a bit tighter than you'd expect.-it's not flimsy per se, but i wish it was about 20% thicker on the chair and back slats. Again the chair isn't going to break it you're under 250 lbs, but even at 200 lbs myself, it feels like you're approaching the comfortable limit of confidence while sitting in it.Overall, I like it and bought it to test out for a Summer season. My intent is to steal the design and build companion pieces that are 20% bigger and thicker, dependent on how this chair design functions this year.

It's a lot of work but.....
I think this would be a great chair to use as a project. You do have to assemble and screw together EVERY single piece. I would highly recommend a power tool/screwdriver due to the massive number of screws. This chair is less expensive than most on the market, so I knew it was going to be some added work for me (full assembly). I will say that screws connecting the moving parts had ALOT of wiggle room and made the chair feel wobbly, so I purchased some rubber grommets to use to fill the space and that offered a little more confidence in the stability. The chair does creak and groan, but I think that adds to the character of the piece. Reminds me of summers in an old porch swing. The color is beautiful. I did leave it outside and noted that some of the paint rubbed off and some cracks became more noticeable. I would advise treating the chair prior to leaving it out in the elements. Sometimes the screw holes didn't align but there was still plenty of space to secure the piece in the right location. The wood is soft enough that it wasn't a problem. Overall, I am looking forward to enjoying my purchase. It was lot of work to put them together. I feel this a great project to teach following steps and making adjustments to achieve the finished product. I had fun watching it come together and troubleshooting for solutions. I was working alone so it took me about 2 hours to get it totally completed I'm sure 4 hands will make the work go much faster. If you are feeling like a challenge, get the chair.
