The fit is perfect, if you measured the cane accurately, first
Be sure to get the cane dimension perfect, and you won't have any problem. I had a stand-alone metal cane with the 4 rubber-tipped bottom. It's great as long as you don't fall on it (which I learned the hard way). But the rubber 3/4" tips seem to be worth the cost, and also seem to be tough enough to last a longer time. They replaced the old tips, which after only a couple of years were marking up our floors. Good buy. These should last much longer.POST NOTE: After about 6 months of use, I have noticed that the bottom of these tips will show some wear on the rear edges -- I guess you could call it 'walking edges' wear.....not TOO bad, though. If you just occasionally give the tips a little turn, you can avoid any extreme wear in any one spot. I didn't do that with my original tips and they wore down to the metal edges, and that was marking our floors. These new tips are pretty good replacements however. You just have to use them smartly, though.

Perfect for my need, which is unusual I guess.
I was out hiking recently and I came cross a fallen, rotted, huge, very old Saguaro Cactus. Poked it until I exposed a straight, thick rib. I pulled the rib out, brought it home, sanded the heck out of it, cut it to size for a walking stick, oiled it well, drilled a hole through the top and slipped a piece of paracord through it, and put this cane boot on the bottom. Now I have a cool, very southwestern walking stick. Just what I wanted. This cane boot is very durable.
