This is the 3rd iv boughtMy son is learning so..First in key of C solid bodyThis is in the key of G openThe kalimba is tuned pretty much bang in..I use a chromatic tuner to tuneThe pitch and clarity is perfect especially on the short b tyneI have large hands and feel restricted on my other kalimba .. juggling it aboutMovingShould only do that on a piano not a finger harp..This however sits right and has a well balanced body and soundApart from being in the scale if G which is a mellow toneIt would be nice to get the same in a C scaleTried tuning up but not having it.so left in key GImpressed with the construction and now all iv got to do is learn all the tricks of the trade😲🤣

I like the sound but it is really hard to setup. I used some calimba apps to make akort but takes me ages. It is not easy to make. But after that it has really good sound. Quality is good as well.

Lovely packaging. Comes in a sturdy, attractively decorated cardboard box.Inside there is the Kalimba, tuning hammer, a sturdy hard carry case and an attractive sacking type bag, either can be used to transport the instrument. The instrument and all the accessories looked and felt like they were good quality. Apart from being pleased with the kalimba itself I thought the hard case very good quality.Has a few music sheets included to get you started.Instrument itself has a beautiful sound and all 3 family members loved trying it out and really liked the beautiful clear tones this instrument produces.It's not often a package arrives and captures the entire family's interest and I do mean the entire family, all three of the cats came to investigate the musical sounds.Regarding key it appears to be G Major not C so we have found it a bit more challenging to source music. The guidance on tuning refers to C but when tuned to C we found some resonance was lost so tuned back to G.As already mentioned ths comes with guidance and a couple of tunes listed but you can find more guidance on YouTube as well, as Kalimbas are very popular on YouTube.

Kalimba, or thumb piano, gives a haunting ethereal sound from a small portable instrument.Comes nicely presented in a case, with a tuning hammer, rubber finger protectors, a sack and some musical note stickers, as well as an extensive manual introducing you to the instrument and how to play it and a few sample songs to get started.The Kalimba is made of wood, it feels very tactile to hold it fells nice, the wood is finished to a high quality, its like holding a nice smooth block of wood. Plucking the notes with thumbs produces a lovely tone…it yearns to be played….within a few seconds I was playing The Long & Winding Road, the a bit of twinkle twinkle star, it is very intuitive and its fun.The book includes a few basic songs, twinkle twinkle, ode to joy, 500 miles etcIt comes with a cloth sack, although I an unsure exactly why, the case it comes in is perfectly fine, it protects it and is not too large, a style thing perhaps.

A very nice looking Kalimba, beautifully made from sandalwood. It is already tuned, but it comes with a little hammer to retune it. It remains to be seen how difficult I find that!There are a bunch of accessories that come with it, including little stickers that you can use if you think it may help you learn the notes. It comes in a sturdy carrying case that I think will offer it good protection from humidity and modest falls.I have one kalimba already and this one seems to have a softer more mellow tone.5 stars

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme. This is a well made and nicely presented instrument, pre-tuned so ready to play from the box. A Chinese production of an African "folk" instrument, it lacks the crudeness (charm) of the native kalimba that I remember, which were hand made and often made from whatever materials were available. Nevertheless, this is a good-looking item and is supplied in a good quality case with a tuning hammer as well as some decorations and stickers. It's also attractively packaged such that it would make a good gift.This model has 17 keys and is tuned to "G": Kalimba tend to range from 6 to 21 keys, this one is a good balance between tone range and complexity. A light chain is supplied which, when fitted across the keys will produce a tonal reverberation like a tremolo effect.The sound it produces is pleasant to the ear even if just struck at random: ideal for kids with a musical interest.Currently retailing at £36.99, this particular model seems rather expensive as it is a 30% dearer than apparently identical items on the same Amazon page. Other than the price, it's a lovely thing to have either for your own enjoyment or to receive as a gift.

This really has everything if you want to learn to play the kalimba or finger piano 🎹 The materials look high quality. The only criticism is that the thumb protectors as child sized. If you are an adult buy some bigger ones. They are reasonably priced.Has key stickers to learn the notes if needed. Comes with what I assume is a tuning hammer of sorts. The carry case is sturdy and the instrument makes a pleasing sound.

Hollow Kalimbas haben ja diesen negativen Ruf, dass die tiefen Töne dank Resonanzkörper aufdringlich laut klingen und die höhen Töne im Vergleich dazu kaum zu hören sind. Bei qualitativ mangelhaften erzeugen die höchsten Töne teilweise überhaupt keinen Klang.Die LingTing K17 nicht. Bei ihr haben auch die hohen Töne einen brillanten Klang mit langem Nachhall und es gibt kein zu auffallendes Lautstärkegefälle zwischen den tiefen und den hohen Tönen. Grundsätzlich ist sie aber schon lauter, als eine solide Kalimba. Damit kombiniert sie die Stärken von Hollow und soliden Kalimbas in sich, was ich echt stark finde. Durch ihre Kompaktheit und das niedrige Gewicht können gerade Ungeübte damit lange spielen, ohne dass die Handgelenke wehtun.Nur die Stimmlippen liegen ziemlich nah beieinander. Alle 17 Stimmlippen nehmen in der Breite gerade einmal 10 cm ein. Es braucht etwas Übung, um nicht versehentlich an die benachbarten Töne ranzukommen.Meine Kalimba war in G-Dur gestimmt und ich habe mal spaßeshalber probiert, was passiert, wenn ich sie auf C-Dur umstimme. Kann ich nicht empfehlen. Die oberen "Problem"-Lippen fingen an, zu scheppern oder klangen überhaupt nicht mehr. Die Stimmlippen scheinen für genau die Tonlage optimiert zu sein, in der sie ausgeliefert wurden. Davon sollte man besser nicht zu sehr abweichen. Zum Glück bietet Ling Ting ja mehrere Modelle in verschiedenen Werksstimmungen an.

Die Lieferung verfolgte schnell. Die Kalimba ist fabelhaft! Super Klang und total gut verarbeitet.Ich hatte bereits eine andere Kalimba gehabt. Jedoch gefiel mir bei meiner alten Kalimba den Klang nicht, besonders gestört haben mich die höheren Tasten, die waren kaum zuhören. (dieses Problem haben viele schlecht verarbeitet, billige Kalimbas)Anders als bei der Ling Ting Kalimba. Bei der hören sich alle Töne voll und wunderschön an! Das war mir bei der Suche nach einer neuen Kalimba besonderes wichtig. Auch vom Design gefällt sie mir sehr. Sie legt sich gut in den Händen und das Holz fühlt sich hochwertig an. Dafür, dass sie 44 Euro kostet hat sie neben der Kalimba noch viel zu bieten. Dazu kommt noch eine gepolsterte Transporttasche, ein Stoffbeutel, Notenstickers, Stimmhammer, Lautsprecherkabel mit 2 Anstecker und zwei Gummidaumenschützer. Highlight ist die Kette, die man an die Kalimba festmacht und auf die Tasten legen kann für ein besonderen Soundeffekt. Im Vergleich: meine erste Kalimba hat genauso viel gekostet und dazu gabt es nur ein Beutel, Sticker und Stimmhammer. Nicht zu vergessen, dass der Sound schlechter und ohne Pickup war.Jedoch muss man bei diesem Modell beachten, dass es auf der Tonhöhe G gestimmt ist. Sie klingt demnach tiefer. Aber man kann die Kalimba mit viel Vorsicht auf eine Höhe Stufe z.B. C umstimmen.Wer die 44 Euro zu viel findet, ist die Version ohne Pickup (without EQ) ratsam, die kostet 38 Euro.Andererseits sind die sechs Euro mehr für den Anschluss ist eine gute Investition, finde ich. Am meistern für Musiker die gerne was aufnehmen möchten oder die Kalimba mit `nem Lautsprechern anschließen wollen usw. Aber wer das alles nicht braucht kann sich auch die sechs Euro sparen.Alles in Einem ist das ein sehr tolles Produkt. Ling Ting ist bekannt für ihren schönen Sound und ihrer guten Qualität. Wer eine gute Kalimba sucht ist mit dieser hier in guten Händen.
