Wolo(450) Musical Horn - 12 Volt, Plays La Bamba

Loud and obnoxious just like it should be.
The media could not be loaded. Works as advertised! I made a bracket out of 1/2" EMT conduit that I flattened, got a 5 horns mounted with the compressor below. There was plenty of tubing included, but as you can see, my compressor is very close.

What better way to honk at someone?
You know what's boring? Pulling up to a house and doing that cliche *beep* *beep* and the kids in the house just say "Hey that must be Uncle John/ Aunt Karen."Futs to that! Install this bad mamba jamba and project your arrival to the whole neighborhood with style! Your nieces and nephews will run to the door yelling "Yay! Its Uncle Chad!/ Aunt Krystal!"Super fun horn to own! I have mine installed in my blaze orange jeep wrangler. I'll let you guess what number is spray painted on the sides. Instead of the classic jeep wave, I've always preferred blasting Dixie and chucking the horns while rocking out to Dio. But what you use your horn for is your business.

Not as loud as I liked it to be.
I've been having problem with the compressor. It works fine untill it gets wet. Then the trumpets start to miss and skip. I wasnt sure what to do. My kids of all said try some WD40. I said you can't put oil in a compressor. They said what you go to lose? Well they were right, I had nothing to lose. I went to all the trouble of installing the trumpet horns and all the wiring. So I took out all the hoses on top of the compressor. I sprayed some oil in each horn hole and just let it sit a while. I put a rag over the top of the compressor to then blow out the oil. Which it did. I then reconnected the hoses and sure enough. The horn works! All trumpets in all its glory. My horn is a 4 trumpet horn. So the 5th hole is covered. I removed the cover to the 5th hole. And added a short hose so I can now get to the compressor much easier. And I can oil it more regularly.

Out of tune. Not recommended.
The compressor looked like it might have been returned before as the ink on the label was smudged, but otherwise looked okay. It's true that this kit doesn't come with wiring on a momentary switch, but I didn't have an issue with that as it was a good excuse to get some quality 12 gauge wire and a decent low profile switch instead of that cheap one that comes recommended with this. The compressor works okay for now (it's only been installed for one day) and I managed just fine with the short amount of tubing included, cut in equal lengths, but here's where this kit gets 2 stars. The compressor hits notes at about twice the speed as it should and while you can definitely hear Dixieland, proving that the right tones are being triggered in the right sequence, it sounds like 2 of the horns are out of tune.I'm going to try to tune the horns myself by shortening a couple then see what I can do about dropping the voltage to the compressor to slow it down a bit. I'll probably end up breaking the cheap plastic horns in the process, but it's not like it really works right now anyway.

Check your compressor.
Edit 2: i received a replacement product. Horn works as it should. Maybe a tad quick, but you can definitely tell what song is being produced. Now it's a matter of how long this product lasts but for now, I am happy with my purchase. Word of caution would be to check your compressor first without installing the entire kit. Wire it as directed minus the horns, and run the compressor, once with the car off, and once with the car fully on. If it works with the car off, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll work when the car is on.Edit: My compressor is actually faulty. Blows the fuse at the same time during the music loop. Will be looking at my options for a replacement. Below is my original review:Kit was easy to install, it was straight forward. I recommend getting their relay plug and horn kit to make it almost completely plug in play.Only issues so far is one of the horns don't go off near the end of the cycle. I believe this has to do with my compressor; it arrived a bit cracked and leaks oil. Also the fuse it came with (20 amps) blows out before the cycle ends when driving. Getting a bigger fuse should fix that problem.

Works well with some tweaking!
Works well! The compressor is a little loud and fast. But overall they work nicely with the exception that the horns need a little tuning. Otherwise it's a pretty simple set up. The relay that is included is a big help. By an extra 10' of Tubing to complete the lengths that are usually needed if the horns are mounted a little further away from the Compressor. Be sure to mount the compressor with the outlets for tubing facing the top side. Mounting the compressor sideways will Quit unnecessary stress on the internal disc. Also be sure to lubricate the disc as mentioned in other reviews.

Why not?
Fun addition to any vehicle. Easy to put together, however the mounting bolts are incredibly short for the horns and compressor, say maybe an 1/4 of an inch tops, of bolt threads available to use, get creative or get longer bolts at the hardware store. I mounted the horns inside a cigar box with the compressor on the outside. Also did not use relay that comes with the kit, just rigged up a rocker switch, less hassle to wire and still have my regular horn if need be. Great kit so far.

Poor product don't waste your money.
I had purchased this item years ago and added them to my truck so when I saw them again I jumped at the chance to put them in my current truck. However the quality has changed. Nothing is the same. The hose they included was so short I had to purchase hose at Lowe's. There is No wiring or connectors for the wire so again back to Lowe's. Lastly they do not include the on/off switch and you got it back to Lowe's. Don't waste your money

Bit more difficult of an install, get what you pay for, horn honks as it should
I didn't think the install would be as difficult as it was. You're required to have a lot of the pieces for install as they don't provide anything other than hose. The instruction tells you to drill holes somewhere in your engine bay and mount each individual piece to its hole which is overkill considering the gear is five horns and a compressor plus hoses and wiring so very difficult to install cleanly. What I did was buy some high strength magnets (25lbs) and then build a bracket for each individual piece that would be connected to a magnet and then I was able to install the entire unit cleanly inside my steel aftermarket bumper. At the end of the day the install was clean and easy once I figured out an idea and bought the parts. Easy to remove as well as it's all magnets. The horn sounds great (one horn has a bit of a weirder sound on the first power cycle but then cleans up).Overall for what I paid I am happy with this horn and been having lots of fun with it!

La Cucaracha
Bought this one to replace the first one purchased in 2000. This one wasn't as good as my original one but still plays a nice tune. First one worked 16 years, hopefully I can get another 16 years out of this one.Wish there was a way to buy replacement trumpets tho.Easy to install, easy to wire up ... no problems there.

Broken... Not worth your money
Sadly, these were ordered in the middle of march, Installed in the start of June and broken at the start of September. The compressor that makes the horns go is broken. Please don't waste your money purchasing this item, and installing it for a few uses over the course of three months.Hope this helps, have a nice day.

Trumpets tune off
The product was delivered on time and with no damage. Installation is easy but air tube a bit to short. An extra foot would be perfect. DOWN side is that the horn and compressor works good but the flute are off and tune is not as advertise. It sound a bit funny and there is no way to tune the flute for the wright pitch of sound. I don't recommend unless there is a way to tune the trumpets correctly.

Customer Service not the greatest. But product is awesome
Had this in my old truck, and it was great for 3 years. Then a trumpet stopped working, and customer service said they would help me, but never did. Then I bought a new truck, and bought another set for this one. One trumpet was defective, and instead of trying customer service again, I just ended up buying another. Cost me twice the money, but way less frustrating than dealing with the manufacturer.
