overpriced book. unfortunately i needed it for a US History class and was overall pretty disappointed. none of the information in this book was worth what i paid for it. the only upside to buying this book is that the school bought it from me for more than what i paid for it.

Book Review
We used this book for my American History Class since 1945. I like learning about history. The major thing that my classmates and I disliked about the book is how it would jump time periods. For example we would be in chapter and it would be discussing the time period 1945-1955 and then the next section would jump to 1970 and then the following section we would be back discussing 1945.

seller review
Eh, it was a little more damaged than the description claimed, but for the price I paid, I really can't complain. The shipping was fast.

Take a different class...
This book is garbage. Its required reading for my HIS115 class and it barely follows any logical order of events. I'm so lost. It jumps forward, it jumps back. It expects you to remember vividly almost any reference made to subjects predating the time period, references running concurrently and explained in non-chronological segments, and references to future chapters and events. The writing tone of the author is needlessly complex as if trying to impress the audience of his grandiose selection of wording. Major terminology is left undefined, leaving the reader to presume its meaning and scope. Large concepts are not highlighted very well. I have to reread every second or third paragraph because the mindless drivel of the author puts my reading into overdrive and I'm merely reading words in progression. This needs to be completely rewritten. The author needs to stop trying to impress his peers with complexity and focus more on its original purpose of educating. 95% of this is in one ear, out the other. Its just intolerable.
