Cute Japanese design
I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. This kettle is so unique that when I saw it, I knew I had to have it in my kitchen. When it arrived, I was surprised at how small it looked, but it does hold over a quart of liquid, so it is fairly substantial. That said, it is made from a fairly sturdy grade of stainless steel, so there is little danger of it warping with use. Even though the entire thing, including the handle, seems to fit precisely over the smallest flame on my stove, the handle remains cool enough to the touch, so I don't have to scramble to find a pot holder at the last moment. If you are used to Western style kettles or teapots, pouring with this thing has a learning curve. Just when you think you've got it down, you run the risk of overshooting your cup. This is just something that will come with practice as you get used to the effect the curves on the spout have on pouring. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because it is hard to know when the water has boiled. Yes, I know it is a traditional Japanese style kettle, but if you've gotten used to an electric kettle with automatic shut off or a regular kettle with a whistle, you need to keep this in mind before you boil the kettle dry. In other words, stay in the kitchen while awaiting this thing to boil. And you may not even necessarily hear it actually come to the boil like you would with a normal pot. So set a timer or find some other cue to remind yourself to go check before it dries out.

Unique shape to heat water
This hot water pot is very unique in shape. Due to this shape, not that easy to store. Not a problem as I like to keep a pot on my ceramic top stove to cover a burner after I am done cooking and until it cools. I have decided I really like the looks of it--not overly large. I usually drink a 16 oz mug of tea, and this pot is about perfect for that size. If you need much more, then this may not be the teapot for you.Due to it's shape, it's a bit different to pour. Not bad, just different--I found I needed to raise my arm higher than with other teakettles (if you have shoulder issues, this may not be comfortable for you). To get the last drop of water out, it requires a slight twist, or it'll run back into the pot. The lid has 3 small holes--so use care that they aren't pointed to the handle! Also, you know the water is boiling due to the steam coming from these holes (no whistle).Note: Despite the title, you can only boil water in this pot. See the image I have uploaded of the sticker on the side of the box.The handle feels slightly wobbly. It is attached with screws and looks secure, but I dislike the thought of something that holds boiling water that isn't 100% secure (one star).DISCLAIMER: This product was provided to me at a reduced price in exchange for an honest, impartial review.

I like my new Voltana Kettle
A friend knowing my love for coffee recommended the Voltana kettle to me and even gave me a discount coupon to encourage me to try it. OMG! It's terrific; the coffee I can make using the single cup brewing method is as good as I've had and the kettle is well designed. Thumbs up baby! G.
