This is a lovely hardback book. Some very interesting history and tips followed by lots and lots of beautiful patterns and variations. Really useful for future projects.

A really good book with a good background history of the patterns, I especially like that the author has added historic photos of some of the featured patterns. Excellent book.

Short of semi glossy pages making fun to read in some lighting situations, this book is a good well rounded piece. The brief histories of people and their traditions which lead to a continued movement will help those who are curious about this style of knitting to pick up on the where it came from.There are patterns charted on graph form which are ledgable under the right lighting. Anyone who can count stitches can use these charts with ease. The only other drawback is the 'master patterns' to create the socks, hats, and sweaters was a bit tricky to follow. Extra care of reading the pattern and trying to work it up is equal to making a swatch for level of importance prior to applying their charts.
