Very good value for money, minor issues with size and some condensation.
For the price there are few tents that can compete, especially when its on sale for £90-£100. Took this out in about a 32-35mph wind with light-moderate rain and it held up perfectly fine. Setting it up takes some time and there was condensation forming in the morning but both issues were manageable and for the price, you should expect these minor problems. With the money you save on going for a more expensive tent, I would recommend a footprint for under the tent. This isn't to do with the material having holes or anything but it does seem somewhat thin on the bottom so an extra layer of protection can't hurt.

It keeps me dry
I use this regularly and I have never got condensation or leaked in heavy long downpours. When you put up the tent the equipment is of a very good quality.

I like it
I have used this a couple of times now. Easy to pitch up and take down. My little gripes with it are.. the door flap can be a faff and nomatter how you open it in the rain your going to get a stream of water onto the groundsheet. It can sleep two but only if your 'close'.. i wish there was a hook at the inside front of the inner. The outer can suffer from a lot of condensation if theres no breeze. But its waterproof, lightweight, small packed away and has alloy/aluminum poles. 👍

MUCH better than other higher priced tents
I come to this as a former outdoor kit reviewer who has now had to buy my own kit as I no longer get the free stuff! So, I did test the MSR on a multi day hike in Winter, in Scotland. Don't. Its a warm weather type of tent. This however, IS most definitely a 4 season tent. Darker colour against day break for a lay in, also concealment if wild camping. Small enough to fit on my mountain bike, or in my kayak. It's THAT versatile.Also. When you first pitch, you have to clip in the inner tent - but, you CAN leave it attached to the outer tent to make putting it up next time a LOT quicker. The ONLY draw back for this, is that you can't fit it back into the 2 smaller sleeves. It has to go in the one larger one - meaning one person carries.

It’s a good tent but has its limits
Decided to have a camp out in the Scottish Pentlands with friends. The forecast was good with wind forecast up to 20mph and the hike up went well. However when we got to the top of our hill it was a tad more windy than we’d expected and to make matters worse we could see the rain drawing in from over a mile away. The tent was pitched and immediately one of the poles became bent and crooked under very strong gusts. It’s hard to estimate the wind speed but we were not able to wear hats and anything light had to be pinned down by our day sacks. The pole was able to be bent back straight and we moved camp to a less windy spot where the heavens opened and it rained for the next 8-9 hours. The Jackal stood proud on the hillside as it was unaffected by the gusts and rain. I contacted OEX the next day who stated the Jackal II is only rated for 25mph winds and would require extra guy lines and pegs for anything higher. The tent pitches with the outer flysheet first and the inner attaching to the inside of the flysheet afterwards. The outer flysheet can be put up in minutes giving you a quick dry space to throw your gear. It comes with 3 stuff sacks, 1 main sack and 2 dry bags that house the inner and outer separately. It has a ceiling hook in the porch and one inside the tent for lanterns or in my case, hanging my coat to dry!The Jackal II is also quite heavy for any long hikes, I enjoy the extra space this affords me however if you struggle with back ache or other strain related injury you might want to consider a smaller tent.

Great quality great price.
I used the Jackell 2 two man tent for the first time and it rained heavy all night with strong winds too. I was really impressed with its ability to deal with the conditions giving me a warm dry first time experience and it was easy to put up too.
