Simply Beautiful
Everything in this anime is beautiful and well done. From the box art, to the bluray cases, to the disc, and the anime itself. This is one of the most well done sets in my collection from Funimation. All of the art is done in the same art style as the one you see on the box cover. Both outside and inner part of the bluray cases have another piece of artwork. The discs themselves have artwork over them with a brown (sepia?) color. The DVD comes in the bluray style case as well with a DVD logo instead of Bluray. It keeps the case looking nice since they both match and dont stick out like a sore thumb. From first glance you would think this was just a lighthearted and fun anime. Though it is lighthearted at times, it does happen to take itself very seriously. It's an emotional journey with amazing characters. The only thing that would leave you disappointed is that it is only 12 episodes. I'm not really a fan of stories being crammed into 12 episodes, it leaves this anime with a 'short, but sweet' feel to it when you are done. If it was at least 24 episodes I think they could have made it even better. If you're looking for an action filled thriller ride, or another harem anime then this is not for you. It's simply a good story, with wonderful characters. If you enjoy anime such as Princess Mononoke or Kurau: Phantom Memory, then you will get along well with Fractale.Dont miss out on this.

Better then I could have imagined
Fractale is a really good, and suprisingly mature Anime. I must admit I first bought it just based on the artwork alone, it looked pleasingly old-school, and vibrantly colored(with a name like fractale i guess it should be) and i was not disipointed, not only was the art style good, but, honestly, this is one of the best animated Anime's I have seen in years! when you first start Fractale, it seem like it is just going to be a goofy comeing of age tale, which it is, but it is also so much more. It is also a well done sci-fi tale, with some honestly disturbing, yet thoght provoking events within(im being vagu so as not to spoil anything). at this point in my life I have probably been watching Anime, in one form or another, for almost 20 years, and I must say that if you pass on Fractale, you are really missing out on something special! Will it ever be considered a classic like Evangelion, or Lain, probably not, but maybe it should be. I loved it and I hope you will too. thanks for reading my review!

A Very Unique Anime
Fractale was introduced in the 22nd century to promote a peaceful society. It is a network containing billions of computers. Humanity has become complacent and lives their lives through doppelgangers. Very few actually live their lives with their real bodies. Clain is a young man that lives with a fascination of old technology. One day, he meets a girl named Phryne. She is a priestess of Fractale, which has now become controlled by a religious cult. She disappears and leaves Clain a pendant. Out from the pendant comes a cheery girl named Nessa. The connection between Nessa and Phryne is a mystery, but they are very important to the future of Fractale, and are pursued aggressively. The 3 are reunited and join a group of anti-Fractale freedom fighters. With their new friends, they discover the truth, and start a war to liberate humanity from the tyrannical Fractale "religion".This anime is very interesting. At first it seems like something that Miyazaki would come up with. Then as it progresses it reminds you of The Last Exile. It's kind of a mix between Castle In the Sky and The Last Exile. It has action, comedy, drama, and mystery. There are lots of great characters with good voice actors. The animation, and soundtrack are also very good. The series has potential to be 5 stars, but I think it needed to be longer. It doesn't seem rushed or anything, I just wish that they has developed the relationships between the characters a bit more than they did. That's my only complaint, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. It's got a little language, so I recommend it to viewers 11 and up. I really enjoyed Fractale, It's an extremely well done series, and every anime fan should check it out.

Wonderful Series
Fractale is a wonderful series. The story is touching, and will leave you wanting more. The whole universe could have more story's in my opinion with the Fractale system. But in this series they did miss some aspects from the manga, but I found it still nice. The animation is top notch, along with the sound.Al-tho the extras are lacking. This is a pick up for any anime lover. One Packaging conThe new Funimation packages for bluray. They place a bluray box on top (seen in image) and on the plastic around the whole case they place two stickers. Sometimes these stickers are not the same of the case which bothers me. Some people would like to keep these different looking stickers but cant in some cases as they are on plastic.

You won't be disappointing... I wasn't
I must admit at first I was very skeptical of buying this series after reading comment after comment online about how the ending was a let-down, but after watching it myself I must say I was very pleased. By no means am I an expert reviews, I'm just simply an Anime fan, but I can tell you that this series delivers a fitting ending for the emotional journey the characters go through.Anyway, it was definitely worth a buy, although too short, like always.

great anime
This anime is has an amazing story, and the artwork looks awesome in high def. The story has many twists and turns, the characters are very well developed (even though its a rather short series), and the music isn't too bad either. I do recommend this to anyone who is looking to up their blu ray anime collection. It's a good investment in my opinion.

Real Scifi
This anime has a real solid science fiction story and the quality of the animation art is excellent. The characters are well developed and you become vest in the story rather quickly. I found it enjoyable and would recommend it to any sci fi fan.

Fractale - a downloaded world of dream and reality
Imagine a peaceful world where you can live in your own house away from bustling towns and that your parents as avatars (inc the dog) can visit you for lunch; but somehow doesn't all this seem fake, a bit lonely? Then in drops (literally from the sky) a mysterious girl who gets you fired up, who is being chased by what seem inept characters until you realise these are free humans with no Fractale knowledge being implanted in your head through a daily prayer to a star! Exit the girl only for a new one to emerge from a cube is she real or an evolved avatar? Will love and intrigue be explained? Watch this short series for the answers :)I love the artscapes and the characters are all endearing in their own ways, even the baddies :P

Fractale [DvD]
Is the world around us real or is it made up to be reformated every 100 years. The series follows a young boy as he trys to save the world and two young girls.Aided by a terrorist sect that lives of the grid so to speak.A fun filled adventure for all the family to enjoy with plenty of twists in the story and a happy ending.

Nice but
I was looking forward to seeing this series as the premise interested me and sure enough the series was very good. It seems that most people are plugged into some kind of virtual environment called Fractale. There are two factions - those who want to keep Fractale going and those who wish to destroy it. The main character becomes involved when a princess ends up befriending him. Although I really enjoyed this series I have to make mention of the fact that although the option to turn off the subtitles was available from the menu it didn't seem to work and I was forced to watch the whole thing with yellow subtitles (not the best colour in the world for them) which were completely different to the spoken English dub making the series extremely hard to follow as you ended up half listening to the dialogue and half reading the subtitles which would occasionally disappear too quickly.Amine purists would probably tut-tut at me for not watching it in Japanese with subtitles but hey I like English dubs so sue me.If the option to turn off subtitles is available at least make it work and not force us to watch it with horrible yellow subtitles. As with most Japanese anime the ending is left ambiguous.
