Great story!!
I love how the book portrays the goodness of Zadig, and how goodness can also create unfortunate events and still remains good. I related because people walk over and use me because I can easily complete a specific request. I do have the ability to say no and I say that a lot.

Simplicity of honor and wisdom
Like many, the earthly problems encountered by Zadig were familiar, but like a fairy tale he resolved them. It was a lark to read

Too abridged
Other versions have more details, which make the story of Zadig more memorable. This version is basic and boring since it skips over parts. Worst part is that the first few chapters are sufficient in detail, then the author appears to lazily complete the chapters by making them progressively shorter. I stopped reading halfway but i imagine the last chapter will be just a paragraph about zadig being happily ever after. 5 star if you hate classic works and need to skim for a 10th grade book report tho.

this page is highly false/misleading -- the about the author talks about award winning translator Peter Constantine, but it seems this version was actually translated by somebody else. Not acceptable

Crappy little reprint
Very poorly produced book. Brilliant writing.

Terrible edition
This edition is offensive, no footnote, no forward, NO page numbers anywhere, and the translation is terrible. The name of the translator is not even listed on the book

Mandatory read for all optimists
A 200 year old easy read with a convincing message for today. Make like Voltaire didn't live and die for nothing.
