EMPYRE OMNIBUS

The graphics here are amazing. The print is perfect. The stories are streamline. I bought it based on a couple individual comics I picked up and read through. I really didn't expect this huge and epic of an omnibus for that price. Amazing quality!!!

Empyre was a big story. Lot of moving parts. For the most part it worked very well. Art was on point. Writing was solid throughout. But, COVID19 disrupted a lot of the planned tie-ins. Some of it is provided in various stages of production and it’s a nice behind the scenes look at what could have been. But, the main story felt complete and I had a good time with this omnibus.The book itself is top notch quality. Sure, the paper could be a bit thicker but it’s fine. Might work out some biceps as you pick this one up and put it down so there are some health side benefits here.

This is a review of the omnibus, not a review of the Empyre event itself.Something important to know is that this omnibus is a bit unique in containing a lot of unfinished material (scripts & pencils) of the aftermath of the empyre event that were never printed or finished due to the pandemic. That alone makes the omnibus rather unique, regardless of what you think of the crossover event itself.

Incredible art and great action thick book

I like to collect omnibus' because they have so much story to tell, especially the hardcover's.

Started off good but got very sketchy at times with loads of unnecessary filler, wouldn't bother reading again, Avengers vs Daffodils

Gutes Buch, tolles Format, Story war jetzt nicht überwältigend aber unterhaltsam.Den Versand von bookexpress kann ich leider nur als Sauerei bezeichnen. 0 Polsterung oder Schutz, geschweige denn einen stabilen Karton als Verpackung benutzt. Schlicht in Folie eingewickelt und weg geschickt. Die Ecken samt Einband sind somit ziemlich beschädigt worden.

Empyre is a sprawling tale. A bit convoluted and at times it felt disjointed, but it was never boring. It is also an enormous book. Which is good, and also unwieldy but I set it on the table and read. Problem solved. My issue is I keep my books in their wrap until I read them, and yeah the paper is a tad thin, but it's a far cry from the newsprint of my youth. The biggest surprise was in the middle of the book I had about a dozen pages that had been ripped and then nicely fitted back where they belong. The pages are intact, so it's more a tear but it ran pretty deep. These aren't really investments, but dang any resale value went into the crapper on this one. This is not the first book where this happened. It's rare, and honestly you can't tell from unless you get to the place where the damage is. Too bad I didn't discover this earlier. Kind of ruined it for me.
