Foma films are good
Some may disagree, but I find Foma 100 and 400 to be just wonderful films. They are classic grain structure, great clear base, and not too thin (curl). I use Foma 100 more than 400, but like them both.

I bought this for my 35 mm camera because I love black and white pictures

Love the Fomapan look!
I prefer the ISO 200 speed and 36-exp rolls, but this is good film! The 200 speed produces a bit more of a gritty look, which I like. This 400 speed seems a little more refined but still has great contrast and warm tone.

Good quality, low price film.
This is a good quality film with pretty fine grain. I really liked it. And for the price, you can’t beat it.

Good beginners film
Fomopan 400 BW film is a great film for photography students and folks just learning to shoot BW film and developing BW film. The film is pretty grainy, and very contrasty. Also some of the grays look as though this film was an Infrared film, showing lighter than I'd expect. The exposure at 400 ISO was spot on, with good latitude over and under exposed by 1 stop. The grain makes fine detail hard to see but the grain can be used to your advantage for certain looks.I wouldn't use this film for any once in a lifetime shots. It is, however, great for those artistic shots. And it's cheap enough to experiment with.

I am no expert but this seemed to do the job well for not a lot of money. I think I prefer Ilford HP5 though, which isn't really that much more money.

Shoots like expired film
Film looked a bit old, which is odd given its exp. date. Not as sensitive as any other 400 ISO film or digital equivalent I've used or seen used under the same conditions. It is cheap though, so that's a big plus.

It's crooked?
I've shot quite a few rolls of Fomapan and keep going back. I like film with personality, and this has it. If you like Tri-X, try Fomapan.
