hell that was a fun and hot read
Ugh!I was hooked from the first page. Such a fun and intense read. I read it in a single day. I’m quite looking forward to the next book. There’s something quite wholesome about the series. The first book has a sort of raw yet beautiful way of portraying a woman who had undergone some serious trauma that begins to touch on and delve into. Not just that, I loved how different this was in that the main male character was SILENT almost the whole book! Crawford s ability to still portray emotion and reveal the character’s personality was clever.Despite Crawford’s tendency to showcase flaws and imperfections in a main character, I didn’t necessarily find anything that stood out as outright annoying with Arianna in this book. In truth, I feel I relate more to her than any other character Crawford has written while also admiring her for the things I find myself lacking. Arianna’s ability to accept her shortcomings was insightful and also humorous. Her method of dealing with issues is both impressive, comical at times, and also relatable in that she approaches problems with cunning and humor, but then Crawford adds in that violence, only it’s done almost in a funny way more often than not. I gotta say, I’m a fan of dark humor, so this was very enjoyable. The MFC is also bold and sarcastic, yet also deeply caring while disturbingly flawed, yet not so much that you dislike her. I mean, you really can’t help but like her.Her challenges are ones you find yourself sympathizing with.I found that the characters in this are also well written, drawing you in and keeping you captive. In all honesty, the way it all unfolds is told so well that you can’t help but open your heart to her, Ciara, as well as Melusine. Even Ruadan becomes quite likable. The whole journey to go from enemies to almost lovers really gets you to the point you want to board that ship. And I do love me a good enemies to lovers and am excited because this has promise. There’s so much to like about the story. There’s wittiness, sarcasm, dark humor which surrounds dark ugly aspects that show the world isn’t such a happy or carefree place while at the same time, you find goodness underneath it all in unexpected and surprising places. I find all of it deeply relatable with a spin that makes some of the harder topics palatable and even enjoyable at times, especially as you watch these flawed characters rise to the challenges set before them and grow as people. At least, that’s why I liked it.

Can't wait to read book 2!
I really enjoyed this book! Funny story, I couldn't decide what to read so I handed my husband my kindle and he picked for me and chose this book!Arianna is a demi fae who is a real ass kicker! The plot was very interesting and engaging. I enjoyed all the characters a lot. I have to admit though Ruadan is probably my fav, he's just that perfect secretive MMC. I think the best thing about him and Arianna's relationship is that since he does not talk until he has completed his mission because he took a vow of silence, Arianna has to interpret his actions and communicate with him by her talking and him writing only a select few times on pieces of paper. It definitely makes him that shadowy mmc that is huge right now which I enjoy!I think the writing is pretty good. I would say the only complaint is that the author mentions that Arianna and others believe that Arianna is a "gutter-fae" and mentions it a bit too much. But with that it gives the FMC something to strive to prove to others that she's better than that.Overall, I will be continuing the rest of the series and can't wait to see where Ruadan and Arianna end up and what they end up facing together!

Five stars for sure
I only have one complaint...that this book wasnt long enough because I could honestly read it forever. I mean seriously, this book was that good!Lately, I have been reading book after book and leaving bad reviews because they sucked...and then I stumbled upon this grateness (although I dont like the book cover. It gives a tweeny, cheap vibe but the story is much more serious. The cover should have been a symbol of the World Key with blood dripping off of it and shadows in the background or something similar)So were there some things I think the author could have done differently? Yes, I was a little confused at the ending. She went back into the pub or whatever to finish eating with her friend but like...is the Wrath going to take her back to the institution? Why did he just leave like that? I think this is actually my only critique...but even then it is minor because I can just jump over to the next book to get answers. So on to the pros...the characters were relatable and real. They had depth and purpose in the story. The MC is so strong and not in an overdone way. She still had weaknesses but she overcame them, which made her real to me. And omg this book was actually really funny. The author's since of humor is gold.It had the right amount of sexy. The right amount of sass. The right amount of action. The right amount of romance. It was just an amazing read and I am so happy to write a good review for a change. Can not wait to read book 2!

its an ok read.
Honestly wish I could give half star ratings because it’s right on the line for me. I get that it’s supposed to be set in a post apocalyptic London, but it doesn’t really feel like the authors wrote it well to reflect that. Like it’s really only knickers and arse, it’s giving that kid who went to London on vacation, learned 2 slang words and now thinks they’re British. Also there are several times where it’s giving female character written by a man vibes, and I hate it! Other than that I really liked the book!

Urban fantasy lovers!
This was a fun snarky read! The fmc was a ton of fun and had me cackling a lot. The storyline was a interesting one too, it was like a mix of throne of glass, the mortal instruments and the vinculum duet (Jamie applegate hunter). This was an action packed, funny, and fast paced. The romance reminded me of rowan and Aelin so if you missed that dynamic, you'll like this!! I'm moving onto book 2 now!

Predictable but enjoyable
Quick, delightful read. A bit predictable but the story is interesting enough to make up for it. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Surprised
I was looking to not like this book. But I was thoroughly surprised. It is as a book should be, a,b,c, etc. There is no jumping around confusing the reader. Just a lovely story that one will yearn for more.

Saga

Charming and Steamy!
I have read all 4 books in this series and couldn't put them down! I found the main character Arianna was incredibly charming (she runs through London kicking everyone's *** and drinking her whisky). The characters in this book are very endearing - each one bringing an element of the story somewhere surprising. There is a modernized twist to the books where the ancient fae world collides with the somewhat modernized human world. Arianna challenges it in many ways which will make you giggle (especially when she uses this twist to challenge steamy Ruadan). The magical aspect was unique and keeps you guessing until the end! Highly recommend.

Urban Fantasy decisamente godibile
