I wouldn’t recommend this product. I understand that nothing is completely fireproof, but this fireplace rug did little to protect my carpet. A hot coal sat on it for about 11 seconds, and while I could smell the rug burning, I couldn’t immediately tell where until I saw the coal had melted right through the rug and into my carpet. A product like this is supposed to help prevent fires, but it did the exact opposite. Definitely not worth the purchase.

It's very flat and thin, which I imagine is necessary so thatit is flame retardant. Definitely all about the function and not big on the looks.

We use as a floor protector to put our fireplace tools and wood caddy. Our floors appreciate it very much!

i dropped a burning ember on this "fireproof rug" and it melted the rubber backing to my tile. I had to scrub the tile to get the melted rubber off. I wish I could find something that is actually fireproof! and this is more fire resistant.

I use them under my grill and smoker, they last 2 years outdoors

These mats are terrible. Buyer beware, do not invest in this product. The description tells you it will save your floor from scorches and burns. Within 10 minutes we had two holes burnt through the mats the damaged our floor. Hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

I thought the mat was going to be thicker but I like how it feels. It's soft not rough to the touch. Perfect size for in front of the fireplace and was not expensive.
