Go GOLD -- or prep eyelid a little differently for other shades...
I ordered three shades -- 5th Ave Gold Rush, Wall Street Bronze, Murray Hill Champagne. Packaging -- the crayons were loose, stuck to the inside of the lid, as reported by others. Not a big deal for me, just tap the bottom on the table to unstick it from the lid, twist up a little, then lightly press as you twist the crayon back down. It will hold the crayon if it doesn't get banged around. Wearability: This was all applied on top of silicone-based primer, and CoverGirl neutralizer concealer stick. The Bronze and Champagne both seemed to "clump" color, almost waxy, where pigment would stick in some spots on my eyelids, but not in others...Bronze reminded me of age spots!, neither of these two were very blendable. The Gold went on better, a bit smoother and much more even-coverage with pigment, more blendable. Subtle shine and light bounce for all three, very good for daytime makeup, blending will make a lot of the shimmer come off onto your finger/sponge. THEN I tried the Bronze and Champagne on top of silicone primer only, no concealer or lid primer which can sometimes dry out or cake on my eyelids; they smoothed out and acted more like the Gold with the slick base of the primer. Gold was a dream in this instance, like silk. Overall, a great product for the price and a good staple for quick-do makeup. I can't attest to staying power -- I wear minimal makeup, and don't usually wear it for more than a few hours at a time. I work a job that's half physical and half public relations, a lot like a park ranger; I carry the Gold in my bag with a plum lip/cheek tint for pop-up meetings with the press. Simple & understated, perfect for my needs. Minus one-half star for the variability of the pigmentation and having to go without concealer on Bronze and Champagne, and minus one-half star for the way the crayon comes unstuck from the twist base (there are better designs out there for twist-ups). 4.5 stars for Gold, 4 stars for Bronze & Champagne; overall product 4 stars, b/c more shades seem to pigment clump than don't.

My Favorite!
This is the best eye primer I have ever used. It’s so easy to apply with its wide tip, I have never seen another eye primer made like N.Y.C. primer. And Amazon is this the only place to buy it as far as I know, if they ever run out of it I will be devastated. (I keep my fingers crossed every time I need to reorder again.)

Great product for me! :)
I've repurchased this item over and over again, at my local drugstores. I'm not a high end girl, drugstore suits me fine. I use this product as a base for my eyes, & to even out any discolorations. That being said, I cant compare it to the legendary urban decay eye primer, but this is only a few bucks & I'm happy. I would give this product a five star rating, but it arrived broken. I'm pretty ticked off, but for a couple of bucks...I can't be mad enough to give it anything but 4 stars. I'm taking one away for being damaged on transit, otherwise for the price and what it does...it's a steal. :)

Great taupe for blondes!
I would have given this five stars except for the problem mentioned by others of the "crayon" falling out of the holder. That certainly is a nuisance, but it's a small inconvenience for such a terrific, easy to use, and inexpensive eye shadow stick. The taupe color is perfect for blondes who want an eye shadow for everyday use, and it works well for nighttime with a heavier application to create a "smoky eye" look. (Important to have eye area and crayon clean for smooth application). It stays on well and doesn't run or crease. I haven't used it during the summer yet, so that will be another test for it.

I love this eyeshadow primer
I love this eyeshadow primer. It is a great value for the price and performance. However, mine has not stayed in the container since I opened it. The whole stick of primer regularly slides out of the tube. It still works of course once I re-insert it and press it into the container but the cap also sometimes comes off in my makeup bag so I have to keep it out to avoid the loose primer stick smudging all over my other products.

keeps my eye makeup in place all day
I have tried many eye shadow primers, from expensive brands to drugstore brands. This is the only one that keeps eye makeup in place all day and night. My eye make up I put on in the morning looks fresh even after all day at work and even after sweating during workouts. It is pretty soft when you first get it, but it does dry up as the time passes. Because it's soft, I had one break off, but I still used it because nothing keeps eye makeup stay on my leads like this one. I use them on my eyebrows too to keep my eyebrow pencils in place.

As expected
I suppose it is what I expected for the price. It went on a bit chalky with some clumping, but with a beauty brush was blended out okay. I had some irritation in my T Zone and under my eyes. I have fair skin with freckles. It was a bit darker than I anticipated but blended out well anyway. In addition, the tip was pushed into the cap upon arrival and the entire stick fell out when I pulled the cap off. Unfortunate... but I was able to insert it once more and as long as I am careful, it'll work.

Good color
The "pencil" came out of the container after about the 3rd use so I have to keep pushing it back in. Other than that it would be a 5 star.

It's not the best but it's not the worst
It's not the best but it's not the worst. It keep my eyeshadow in place for about 3 hours before it would start to crease. Wouldn't buy again.
