Absolutely fascinating book on racism in early Virginia and the role played by the Chrich of England. You cannot read this book without seeing a connection between early racism and what we are seeing today.

Well-written and thoughtful. Offers useful insight to how race was socially constructed, and intertwined with Christianity in early colonial America.

A book that describes early American Religious convictions and beliefs through the construct of race, including the notion, at least then, of "hereditary heathenism", which was a term that caught me off guard, yet aptly describes the views on race at that time.A must read.
