I have had neck pain issues for years and I have purchased memory foam contour pillows in the past in order to keep my neck stable during sleep. I found myself in need of a contour pillow again and I was attracted to the idea of a natural material instead of a synthetic one. When I got this pillow it was rolled up in a plastic bag inside of a "travel bag" with handles. I opened it up and it immediately popped up into the shape I had expected. My first thought was "Oh bummer, this pillow is way too soft."I figured I'd give it a try though. I was accustomed to the very dense and firm memory foam pillows. I was pleasantly surprised once I laid my head down that this pillow is surprisingly firm for how soft it is. The feeling is buoyant. Unlike memory foam, my head doesn't sink into it to form a dent. Instead, the pillow is springy and really comfortable. I can sleep on my back or side very comfortably. Sometimes I wake up on my stomach and it is still comfortable. This latex pillow is so much more comfortable than memory foam! It doesn't lose its shape or become malformed from the weight of my head. It's not "hard" like memory foam but rather very squishy and pliable. It always springs right back to its contour shape.The only reason I did not give this product 5 stars is because of the smell. It's a good thing that I had a head cold when it arrived and I was stuffed up for 4 days so I couldn't smell it. I wouldn't call it a "chemical" smell, but it's not pleasant. I am super sensitive to chemicals. I can't walk down the laundry detergent and cleaner aisle at a store without holding my breath because I will get an immediate headache. I took the cover off the pillow, rubbed a few drops of essential oil (lavender, peppermint, etc) on my hands and rubbed my hands all over the pillow. I have done this for a few nights in a row and the smell is starting to go away. I would recommend airing this pillow out and using a natural scent right before bed to clear the smell. It smells like...latex.

This is a high quality latex pillow, and I love it. It is more firm than another one I have, so is good for a side sleeper. There are no bothersome smells coming from it, and I began using it right out of the box. My only issue is really with my 3 1/2 in mattress topper, which is extremely soft, so is not a good match for a firmer pillow. Need to upgrade (the mattress!).

I wish so much I liked this pillow. A friend suggested latex and recommended it because I need to keep my neck and head elevated (about 5 1/2", but this doesn't reach that height). It's also too firm/hard for me. I like to mold/twist pillows to some extent, but this is unmovable. It's very firm. My head isn't elevated enough, and I feel like I'm sleeping too low, like my head is too close to the mattress, so I have to put a smaller, cheap polyester pillow on top of it, near the bottom, to get in a comfortable enough position to drift off. Even though I sleep on the highest contoured side, I still feel like my head is too close to the mattress, and I can't put my arm under it because it's just too firm and isn't comfortable. If you like to hug a pillow, this one won't do. I can't keep trying new pillows, at least not those at this expense, so I was disappointed.People say it has a smell, and it does, but it isn't offensive or very noticeable to me at all. The pillow is made of rubber, so it has that natural rubber smell, but it doesn't interfere with my comfort. I use the pillowcase it came with; I haven't put another one on it, which I'm sure would mask the smell a bit.I hope this will improve with time. It's sturdy, but it has to give a *little* at some point! I just don't like it right now, and I've had it for about a week. I have a feeling I'll like it more later.

I agree with a previous review about the smell. I own a natural latex mattress and a few latex pillows already. This one smells smells much more than everything else I own. It doesn't feel natural. I've been using it for more than a month now and the smell is still very strong. I vented it for 2 weeks before even starting to use it. It's very unfortunate because the fit is perfect and it feels great. I kind of feel I'll need to return it now or just stop using it if the smell doesn't subside.

I bought this pillow to replace a Hypnotist pillow that I purchased five years ago. The pillow that I received was a different brand, the quality was far inferior to that of my Hypnotist pillow. The cover material was much thinner and the Latex was less firm. I ended up returning and am disappointed because I love my Hypnotist pillow.

Let me get that out of the way....The first impression:I just recieved the package. I spent my own money and in no way do care about this company one way or another.Actually a star knocked off for Made in China. Also another half star off for covers made with polyester.....a plastic.Id much prefer cotton. I will round it up to four for now.The smell is very pleasent. Sweet and subtle. Doesnt smell like typical toxic chemical.It is very large pillow.it takes up almost half of width of queen size bed.Coming from barley husk pillow and toxic memory foam, It definately feels more cushy or softer then i was expecting. I will test it out tonight and report in.I will update and lower the stars depends on The intended performance.
