Item received not as expected
I have purchased this type of chew for my dog before from the local pet store. I am able to pick and choose which one I want. That is the best part of brick and mortar. Fast forward to buying these online which is the first time I have done this and mainly to save a little bit of money. I have attached a picture of the antlers I received. I purchased 2 of them and I showed one of the packages to illustrate the brand and what you get. I also included the tape measure to show length. My issue is the picture that they show on their ad is that of a stick with the ends trimmed. This is exactly what I buy at the store and for a good reason. I don't have to worry about the narrow thin ends that can be easier to break off and cause a choking hazard. Also if the antler is nice and thick, this helps prevent the dog from accidentally ingesting it. My dog would also find it difficult to break in half. The list goes on and on as to why I specifically was looking to buy a product as pictured. What I received is longer than 5" to 6" which is good but it is thin as can be. If I start from the thinnest part and work my way up to the thick part, I am well over 3/4 the way up to get to a 1 inch thickness. What I normally buy is about 1.25 inch in diameter and about 6 inches thick throughout which is more in line with what is pictured. I gave one to my dog to see how she handles it. She immediately positioned it with the narrow end in her mouth. If I give her enough time, I am sure she will break the tip off which is only 1/4 inch thick and possibly choke on it.I don't think I will buy this type of chew toy online again. You never know what you will get so its best to just go to the store where you know exactly what you are buying since each unit is different.

Puppy loves this!
My dog loves this! She has been carrying it around for the two days since I gave it to her and has already put a good dent in it. She is an aggressive chewer (50 lbs, 8 mo old lab/shepherd mix). It is big enough that it should last her a long time. I will buy her another when this one is done. She was afraid of it at first then gave it a few sniffs before barking at it for a minute. I just left it on the floor for her and within half an hour it was hers!Update, March 31, 2017-Puppy is devouring this bone! It is now down to about 6 inches. This bone may not last as long as I hoped. I will buy her more, but she may have to wait a while for the next one as my budget cannot afford a bone a week. (This is a dog who can destroy a well-made plush toy in less than 5 minutes.) Still recommend. Smaller dogs, less aggressive chewers should get longer life from it.Update April 1, 2017-Puppy got this down to about 2 1/2 inches, so I took it away. (She was unhappy, but at the rate she was devouring it, it would soon become a choking hazard.)

DO NOT BUY! We paid over $500 in vet bills.
If there was a negative star I would give this product a negative 2 stars. We bought this for our hard chewer greatdane puppy in hopes to keep him entertained for a little longer than his normal chews that’s last for 2-5 minutes. After letting him chew it for one day he ended up with loos stool for two days and then blood in his stool. He was not introduced to anything else so we knew it had to be the antler. We have 3 other dogs and our 1 year old Yorker was the only other dog that kind of chewed on it, but not as long. He too fell ill with some puke and a little loose stool but we took it away in time and he recovered quick. The greatdane was taken too the vet and after $599 in vet bills and special food he is finally back to normal. Many test were performed in him and it turned out to be a bacteria. The only new thing introduced was the antler so we know it had to have some bad bacteria. I wish I could send the company the bill for a bad product.

It has been amazing for my Standard Poodle
So far, so GREAT! I bought for my standard poodle pup who was, seemingly just a large mouth with exceptionally sharp teeth looking to chew on something, anything. I got this antler when he was only a couple of months old. He immediately loved it. I was worried at first that he could get off chunks but as time went by, it was clear that for him anyway, he just "grinds" or "nibbles" away at the edge of the antler and doesn't bite down or try to crunch into it. What was 8 inches of antler is now, a YEAR LATER... around 5 inches of antler. He also has several nylabone and kong chew toys that he puts into rotation, but this is by far his favorite. I will occasionally soak in beef broth to "freshen" it up.I will definitely be ordering another when this one shrinks down to a length that looks a bit too risky.

Hours of entertainment for my happy hound!
Deer antlers were lasting 1-2 weeks. It was getting pricey, buying an antler at $20 each purchase. My beagle may be small but he is an aggressive chewer so I thought I'd get him an elk antler so that it may last longer. This antler is very large and is obviously for large dogs. But for $24 dollars, it was a much better value than the deer antlers at the pet store. Once I received the antler, I thought it might be too big for my beagle but once I gave it to him, that thought passed quickly . He is so happy! This thing will last months, I think. It keeps him occupied for hours!

Perfect for aggressive chewers and 100% natural!
This small family owned company harvests and prepares the antlers. It was clean and didn't smell. It's a decent size 6-8 inches long and has the marrow that my dog enjoys. Because it's whole and not cut in half, my dog needs to work at it. It will last a long time. My dog is a year old Lab and Golden Retriever mix, 70 lbs, and a very aggressive chewer. He has hard teeth and has destroyed many "indestructible" toys! I've tried other antlers and some of them break into dangerous shards, this one has very small pieces that are not sharp. Glad I bought it! The company sent me an email with detailed information before the antler was delivered which was impressive. They stand behind their product 100%! You can't go wrong with this!!
