My favorite adapter: The wire makes the difference
My Jeep has a factory 7-pin connection and everything I tow has a 4-pin. I am familiar with the adapters from a variety of manufacturers. The Hopkins adapter here is my favorite. What I like about it is the fact that the 4-pin connection coming out of the 7-pin plug has a wire coming out of it. The adapters with the 4-pin hard mounted into the adapter have always been problematic for me. When you have those, the trailer wiring puts strain on the 7-pin plug, pulling it down. Even with the locking tab holding the plug in, I've had contact broken as a result of the connector pulling down. With the wire hanging out, you have additional length, plus you have some strain-relief on your 7-pin plug. The quality of these is excellent and it fits neatly in the glove box or in the cargo area.

Like the pigtail
I like this type of adapter for two reasons: 1) the pigtail adds a little length for those short trailer harnesses, 2) you can replace the pigtail end if it gets corroded or damaged. The plug is solid and reliable. I add a little anti-corrosion lube on the contacts to preserve the contact surfaces.

I've had this product for a couple of years now. It is of high quality and priced right. Has taken me through severl seasons of pulling my boat to the lake and still looks new.

Well made adaptor
The way this adaptor looks and feels, I may never have to buy another in my lifetime. Stretches and coils very nicely, and the molded ends are very secure.

Hopkins coil wire
Took long tiime to get here. Was only 3 ft long, needed it for motor hoome connection..Tried to find a way to get ahold of them to send back and couldn''t find phone nu anywhere. Its a good product just not represented right .
