Happy
I'm satisfied with my purchase. I got a few vintage lenses for free and i wanted to try them with my Panasonic g7. This mount worked perfectly for the k mount lenses. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the lenses and this adapter. Great price

Better than expected
The M42 to MFT adapter is honestly better than I expected. I was really expecting a plastic body with metal mounts due to the low price. However I was surprised that this is a solid and durable feeling adapter. I honestly think the camera mount would fail before the adapter. If that's what holding you back, don't let it. Really decent product. Flange distance is correct and the threads are proper pitch.I really have nothing bad to say

Good adapter, but will probably need simple adjustment to work at its best.
If you read the reviews or the MFT forums, you quickly learn that these low-cost adapters are very variable in quality. I may have lucked out, or Fotasy may be one of the better brands, I cannot tell which. The one I got fits very well onto the camera body (Olympus E-PM1). The fit on the lenses is very stiff, due to the springs cut into the bayonet mount. The bayonet flanges have a slit machined behind them that acts as a spring, holding the lens very tightly. This is the standard design of the Exakta mount, and it works well on this adapter. It's a good thing. It means you have hold both lens and mount firmly and apply some steady strength when turning it. Twist but don't force. The little lever that engages the lens' locking pin barely locks on my copy of the adapter. You have to manually close it, because the fit is so close that the little hair-spring in it can't force the lever closed. It would probably benefit from being filed out very very slightly, but it works well enough that I'm not going to bother with the hassle of removing it and filing it.Most important: as expected the adapter is slightly short. That is reportedly the case with most of these low-cost adapters. The lenses focus past infinity. To achieve proper infinity-stop focus, you must remove the adapter's face plate and put some thin shims behind it. All you need is a tiny Phillips head screwdriver, a pair of scissors, and a sheet of aluminum foil. You remove the four screws holding the face plate, and cut four shims about 1/4" long and 1/8" wide. You can place these next to each of the screw holes (you don't need to screw through the shims.) My adapter needed four thicknesses of standard-weight Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil, but yours might be different. Test the camera with your longest focal-length lens first, and focus on something really far away, like the moon, with the aperture wide open. It took me about half an hour of trial-and-error to get it shimmed properly. Attached photo shot with Schneider Xenar 135mm on shimmed adapter. Note the sharp craters visible at the top edge.

Fit, finish and sturdiness
Seems robust enough to support a rather long lens. Came with the needed Allen wrench to set the focus scale on top. Only hand held testing so far and it has been more than satisfactory.

Opens up my voigtlander lenses to my tiny lumix camera
The fit is great: tight but not binding. It's great to spend this little to effectively get 5 new lenses. I have a telescoping close-focus version on my Sony but this is perfect for the Lumix. Thanks and I recommend this seller.

Internal reflection may degrade contrast
I bought this focusing adapter to repurpose a nice old Schneider Componon enlarging lens for macrophotography. The adapter works well mechanically but has a serious optical “gotcha”. It has no internal baffles and its “matte” black finish does little to block off-axis reflection from reaching the camera sensor.Lining the inner barrel of the helicoid with adhesive-backed velvet fabric helped, but there were still a few surfaces and ridges with troublesome specular reflection. I really needed to make a good baffle. My old 35mm format extension tubes had a pair of baffles in each tube. I couldn’t replicate that kind of precision metal-work but I did find an acceptable alternative. The inner diameter of this helicoid’s MFT mounting flange is about 37mm. A plastic cap from an old 35mm film container happened to fit inside that opening perfectly. I used a box-cutter to carve a 13mm x 17mm aperture in the cap and covered its surface with enough velvet fabric to minimize any residual reflection. The photo of a coin at 1:3 reproduction-ratio (using most of the helicoid travel along with two extension tubes) looks good enough to justify all that effort. My DIY fix works well, so five stars for the modified focusing adapter but barely three stars for the original version.

It is what it is. Does what its supposed to.
When I discovered that I could use my old Canon FD lenses with my Micro Four Thirds Lumix, I was very intrigued. So I did the research and figured out what I needed. And what I needed was this. I received it in a timely manner. It was packaged properly. The adapter fit onto the FD lens and M4/3 camera body snugly, and easily. There was no apparent play or looseness between the parts. I took some photos with a few Canon FD lenses, and they all worked as expected.Just keep in mind these things. This is only an adapter. It merely connects the FD lens onto the M4/3 body. Thats it. There are no electrical contacts. There is no autofocus. And there is no glass inside changing the focal length, etc. So if that if what you are looking for, this one works.

Falsch herum
