Not worth the bench space to keep
Where this blade sharpener is rigid cast iron, it is so poorly value engineered and manufactured that I had to send it back. You can only sharpen the flat top of the tooth. There is no device that ensures an constant depth of grind, nor an index tool that ensures accurate sharpening. They tried to make this, but used a screw instead of a machined pin, as attached photo shows. The angle "labels" on the tool as well the pointer are self stick, and were not applied by manufacture to be"zeroed". They just are not accurate enough to set the angle for alternate top bevel sharpening.I made a 1 inch arbor in my machine shop, so I tried to sharpen a 14 inch carbide blade. The grinding wheel provided ran with an eccentric, which introduced chatter during the grinding. As the blade had been damaged by hitting a nail, I had nothing to loose. As the instructions provided are EXTREMELY poorly translated using invented words, I watched several youtube videos to see how to use this sharpener. You manually slide the tooth in and out while applying pressure to the grinding wheel. As the blade had alternate beveled teeth, I 'eyeball' set the angle and ran through alternate teeth, then set to the opposite angle. As zero is not correct, I had to eyeball the opposite grinding angle.I thought it being heavy cast iron it would beat the harbor freight stamped sheet metal blade grinder. But effectively they are both so value engineered that they are unusable. The provided arbor sizes are 20mm, 22mm, 25mm, 30mm, 40mm. The seller said it came with a 25.4mm, i.e. 1" arbor but this is not true. However I doubt if any loss of accuracy would occur with a little slop to the true center of the blade (e.g. use the 25 mm arbor for a 1 inch blade, 5/8" is 15.875mm, so nothing small enough is included for the other standard blade hole size) as the manual operation to apply the tooth to the grinding wheel leaves much to be desired from any sense of accurate sharpening.
