This is easily a 5-Star product for several practical reasons:1. The range of temperatures is measures is wider than many similar Thermometers, from -58F to ~+570F (-20C to ~+300C) That covers anything you are likely to need this for.2. The Design is very user friendly, with a sleeve you can slide it into, and either hang it in a Shirt's pocket like a pen or hang it on a wall. The digital window is clear and easy to read and with only 2 buttons it's as simple to operate as it gets (On/Off, C/F)3. The Measuring metal probe is sufficiently long at 4.5"4. It measures reasonably fast and provided excellent readings.5. One LR44 Button-type battery is provided and already installed. The LR44 Batteries are inexpensive going at less than $5 for 6 of them:  Energizer LR44 1.5V Button Cell Battery, 6 Each All in all, this Digital Thermometer met all my needs and being so convenient assures we will use it often to make sure foods are heatedas desired. This thermometer works perfect. I do not keep it in the oven. I check the meat instantly for doneness in C or F. I do not submerge it in water. I only wipe it clean and put in back into it's cover and store it in a kitchen drawer. I have ruined other thermometers cleaning them with the other dishes!I am protecting this one from damage!

This is a WONDERFUL device if you love to cook and/ or bake!!This thermometer is SO versatile. The label lists off an array of uses- other than kitchen uses.I've had multiple thermometers in the past, all of which have broken after only a few days... This thermometer feels far more sturdy than any of my previous thermometers. I have used it a handful of times already with no problems at all! The display is easy to read, the shaft is long enough to insert into food without getting burnt from the close heat contact and is accurate with its readings. At first I was confused as to what the pen thing was for.. but then realized it was a cover for the prong- such a nice bonus!!! This blows any thermometer I have had in the past out of the water AND it is so affordable! Not to mention, it comes with a year warranty!I will continue to use this products within the next few weeks to come and I will update if my opinions change in any way.** Although I did receive this product for free or at a discounted price, all of my reviews are 100% real, and unbiased. We love to make candy at our house and this digital thermometer is perfect for that. It has an easy to read digital display, so you know the accuracy of your food temperatures. The exact readout prevents you from making any cooking mistakes when temperature is important. I use to use an older glass cooking thermometer and it is hard to get the exact temperature and at times I have had to guess. But that is no longer a problem with this digital oneI received this product at a discount for my honest and unbiased review.
