Not a terrible balm, but …
Not a terrible beard balm, but it’s definitely not my favorite.I’ve gone the ZZ Top route with my beard lately and have kinda wanted to try every beard balm/wax that I can lay my hands on. What attracted me to this one was its great price point. A two ounce (2oz.) tin is $6 (or just $3/ounce); that’s a great price. Or you can go with the 5-pack for $16. At 2oz./tin x 5 tins, the price works out to $1.60 per ounce! That’s one hell of a great price, so long as it’s something you’d be using daily.A number of beard aficionados (based on their reviews) seem to enjoy the subtle scent. Personally, I prefer a scented balm to have … a SCENT! The “scent” (at least for me) was practically nonexistent. When I buy a “scented beard balm” I not only want one that works on my beard the way I need it to, but just as importantly, I want/need it to have a rockin’ scent, a scent that goes with a long, but tamed, well-groomed beard. Poositive comments from the ladies are always appreciated. When I bought the 5-pack, I ordered it knowing it was going to run on the “more subtle side of the scent spectrum” based on the reviews others had left. The reason I didn’t ask for a return was that I used some of the balm from one of the tins. And I couldn’t in good faith ask for my money back by returning 4 full tins and one “slightly used” tin. That seemed like a low rent move when there’s nothing wrong with the balm itself. It’s just that the “scent profile is not for me. I’ll probably wind up giving it to friends that, like me, have given up the razor blade until further notice. There is nothing “wrong” with the balm itself. It’s just that for me personally, the (major) issue was the scent … or rather, the lack of it. One other thing to note (that some reviewers have mentioned). Although the pictures of the balm show it to have a “snowy white” or a “coconut white” color to it, the one tin I opened had a yellowish tinge to it. If you’re a stickler for things such as scent of color, then please take note when ordering. For my bearded brothers out there looking for a lightly to almost completely unscented beard balm (regardless of color tinge), you should give this one a try. Whether at $3/ounce for one tin, or going all out like I did and buying the 5-pack (for less than a couple of bucks an ounce) this balm is a great value … so long as it’s one you’ll use.I hope that this review helped those interested in a balm whose price point(s) can’t be beat. I’ve not seen a lower priced balm. I just really wish this had a stronger (noticeable) scent.

Pleasantly surprised
To be honest, for the price, I was actually expecting to have a lot of negative things to say about this beard balm... The only remotely "negative" thing is that it is very waxy. I'd recommend the company rebranding it as Beard Wax and not a Beard Balm. The scent is very pleasant and not overpowering. Trust me when I say a little goes a long way with this balm/wax. One last thing: since this is more of a wax, I'd recommend getting a beard oil for your skin before applying this product. Your skin will likely not absorb this product. Overall it's a great product for a great price.

Check ingredients
They hold great. The list of ingredients were not what we expected. Did not want to use chemicals on my face.
