I was having a problem with overwatering, and a local florist suggested I try this type of device. It comes in handy because some plants (like Pothos) do better when they really dry out before the next watering and I wasn't able to always trust the touch test. This gets down to the roots so you can really test the moisture. You just insert it into the soil and read the dial. I like that it's not one of the complicated ones that measure Ph, Phosphorus, or whatever else. If you are THAT kind of gardener, this may not be for you. This is perfect if you're just growing house plants and you need to know the moisture level so you don't drown your plants. That's all it does.

I really became interested in plants this Spring & Summer & bought several new ones. I found this little gadget &LOVE it! It has been so helpful in indicating which plant needs watering, since they all require different amounts at different times. I am considering ordering a few more to just leave in my larger plants so I don't have to take it from room to room! I'm really happy with this purchase. Very worth the money!
