Friendly Pet Products Extra Fence Cord/Wire (500 ft) for Wireless Dog Fence Containment System - Platinum Edition

Shipped in timely manner, I chose to install the wire above ground and zip tied it to my chain link fence that my dog had been able to climb. Works perfectly. Only con I have is that the collar is quite large for the small neck band that comes with it, and I wish the on off switch was easier to deal with. The collar has to be pressed for 5 seconds to turn on and off, but if you hit the button one to many times it changes the shock %. Then you gotta keep pressing the button until your back to the desired shock limit you want.

It works, and is low resistance so it will work with the Friendly Pet Products invisible fence. Unfortunately it is just bulk wire and does not even come on any spool, so when you unwrap the cable it falls apart and becomes a large, tangled mess. I have never seen wire this length that did not have a way to dispense it, and I have run miles and miles of Cat 5e/6, coax and 16/2 speaker cable. If I had it to do all over again, I think I would go with a different brand that would accept a better brand of fence cord.

Never really worked well from the beginning, setup the wire underground around my yard and was not able to setup multiple zones where my dog could go like it describes, he was getting shocked at the wrong places and times. Also it says collar is waterproof which you would expect since this is for outside but ours has broken and the piece is missing that makes it waterproof. So after all the work and money we put into this we don't even want to use it.

The customer service provided by the folks at Friendly is excellent. I will say that I contacted them many times before and during the installation process as I was a bit overwhelmed. I wasn't overwhelmed because the installation was difficult, I simply let it overwhelm my head. The wire is relatively easy to lay once you get a grip on how you want to lay it. A garden spade is really all you need along with soft Earth. Easiest to do this after a rain. If you are installing in s large area I would recommend renting a trencher or enlisting the help of good friends as it can be grueling. I rated the product a 3 only due to the collar. My dogs are able to scratch at the collar and change the settings from the low beep or simple "correction" (aka low static) to harsh shock simply by using their hind leg and scratching at the collar. Outside of the collar, the system seems to be working beautifully.

Update 7.11.16 to previous issue. The company actually called me an sent out a new roll of wire that was actually spooled. I do appreciate their integrity an am almost complete with this project. Thank you.Do NOT buy - -this wire is not wound right and has taken us 3 hours to get half way untangled and we still have do not have our dog perimeter up due to this item. This is ridiculous the way it is wound makes no sense and is a tangled mess and I am very upset. The initial wire that came with friendly dog system was spooled right and easy, but if you need additional wire for a larger area, I repeat DO NOT buy this product.

Quality of wire is just fine, however, I would never again buy wire this small gauge not on a spool, it turned into a massive rat-nest and I had to cut it to use again and get free of the tangles. Also - with wire on a spool you can use the auto-feeder on most trenchers setup to bury dog fence at any hardware rental store and save yourself a LOT of trouble. - That only works on pretty dry soil though.....

We installed this product in the fall of 2016. A year later the controller failed. We went through all of the tests and sure enough, no good. For the kind of money we spent, 220.00 it sure should have lasted much longer. Now we have to try and get it replaced. As the add stated, 100% money back guarantee. We'll see.

The style and fit seemed to be what I was looking for, but I have not had these a week yet and they already broke. The top where they attach the lens did not hold. May be fixable with some super glue.
