The media could not be loaded. I am just an average person. A first time Grandma, 4 kids, three girls, one boy, all but the boy is grown and out of the nest. The boy is 16. I saw this beautiful leather-bound book quite by accident. One day it showed up in my Amazon feed and I was immediately intrigued!In looking at the details, I completely missed the fact it was actual real leather. I noticed it looked like leather but let’s be honest with one another here, when something is advertised “real leather!!” I am ALWAYS doubtful it will be REAL LEATHER, and actually look or feel like it. Am I right?This book is ACTUALLY REAL LEATHER. When I took it out of the envelope (which had been opened before I received it for some reason, it didn’t have to clear customs so really why was it opened????) I noticed the weight was fairly substantial. It was in plastic wrapping, which was sealed. I opened the wrapping (while standing in my driveway, next to my husband) and immediately smelled the book. It took me back to days of leather horse saddles and leads, of being in a high quality leather goods store and also the smell of our (my hubs and I’s) expensive, leather Harley Davidson jackets. I knew immediately it was REAL ACTUAL LEATHER. My hubs saw what I was opening and he immediately exclaimed “Wow, that’s really cool babe!” (Please know for this to come from my hubs who is RARELY complimentary on much at all unless it’s a shiny, new HD, or big pick-up truck) 😂As I turned it over in my hands the feel of the leather was truly exquisite. It’s very smooth and velvety but firm. I undid the simple strap which wraps around the book to keep it closed when not in use, and found the pages to be beautifully thick and luxurious. I believe the paper to be thick enough for oil, acrylic paint, definitely for all kinds of drawing and writing mediums to include ink, charcoal and regular colored pencils. The pages of the one I chose are yellowish with dark brown edging, almost as if someone took a lighter and ran it around the outer edges causing a real antique, old feel. That pattern is random for the too, bottom and ends of every single page. The pages themselves are pliable, but very thick imagine asking the grocery store cashier/bagger to put your ice cream in the heavy duty paper bag to help keep it cold longer (just to give you an idea but in no way is the paper constructed in a mass production paper mill like heavy duty paper bags would be).Included within the first few pages is a card from the seller “Leather Village”. It wishes the owner to feel the “peace and love” that went into the making of the journal. The Artisan who made the journal signed the insert.The binding is just as artistic, with a pattern stitched through it.I CANT STOP ADMIRING IT. I get such a feeling of peace and comfort from holding and feeling the pages. Just knowing what my intentions are for the journal (it’s going to be an heirloom for my granddaughter and I plan on writing, sketching and painting throughout the journal) so my granddaughter will know “me”.This journal would truly be an amazing gift for ANY Artist or writer. If you are looking for something to really make a lasting impression on a loved one, or for a unique gift that will inspire and motivate someone THIS IS IT. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. It looks ancient. It looks, feels, and smells amazing. Even a fountain pen doesn't feel old fashioned enough for writing in this thing. Almost need a quill. I don't normally keep a journal, or write in cursive, but this has made take both back up. I actually intended to take out the paper and just use the binding, but it's so beautiful I couldn't bring myself to destroy it, and even ordered a second one.

I've been an artist my entire life and I've used dozens upon dozens of different sketchbooks, so when I say this one is the best of all of them I don't mean that lightly. The cotton paper is beautiful and extremely durable; I covered the first page in a full ink and watercolor painting and there was absolutely zero bleed through or buckling of the paper. The leather cover is the perfect combination of soft and durable, and it even has a pleasant, mild vintage paper smell to it. The fact that it's made out of eco-friendly and cruelty-free materials is cherry on top. If you, like me, use a ton of paints, inks, pastels and markers and need good, durable paper that can weather a serious beating, look no further than this. I will DEFINITELY be buying more!

It is big and seams like it will be great to draw in and I can wait to give it a try. I love the leather and design of the cover as well. The only problem I have is securing the journal. I might be doing it wrong, but I have to tie a sort of knot to with the string. Anyway, I ordered two more.

I love the size bc I don’t like a big overwhelming journey as journaling is not something I enjoy to do. If I got a big journey then I’d become overwhelmed and wouldn’t want to practice. So if you’re like me then this is a good journal . Crafted well looks the the pages are tied into the journal with cords so that’s pretty unique. Feels well put together, like it won’t fall apart. I LOVE THE PAGES. They not regular paper but stronger & textured, as if some kind of cloth- like material. I can use any pen to on the pages though. This is an A+ journal to me.

I bought this for one of my close friends and it was the perfect fit. Once you open the packaging for the journal you can smell the leather . The pages are something you have never experienced writing on before. Thank you to the people who contributed to creating something this special.My friend is a poet and she studies classical literature. She was in awe.

i didn't think much of it(thought it was a little small) but... my wife absolutely loves it. she wanted it to use as a diary. she said "it's so lovely it makes me want to take my time and really think about what i want to write" she says "the pages are so lovely she doesn't want to waste them" must be a woman thing...lol

Leather journal blank pages deckled edges grey paper, not sure what I'm going to do with it, some sort of mixed media, love the paper every page is different, rough almost patterned, quite fun.I have another very similar from another company with cream paper that I love but it was the grey paper that made me buy this one, quite pleased.
