Does the job (mostly), but not that durable.
Kind of flimsy, the plastic around the blades feels like it will break if you push too hard. The blades themselves aren't all that sharp either, and you may have to "help" the potato through the last 1/4 to 1/2 inch. I've found the best way to use this is to get long potatoes and cut them in half, then put the flat end of each potato half on the counter/cutting board so you can push the cutter through with more force. Three stars because I only paid two bucks for it, and for that price I can say it at least meets my expectations. Also, mine was green, not orange like in the picture. I don't care about that, but someone else might.

If I could rate this a zero, I would.
This product is completely worthless - don't waste your money. It is cheap, poorly design, and doesn't work. This product is too small to cut your average potato, so I had to cut the potato in to quarters, sixths, or eights before it was even able to be cut into fries in the first place. You also need to be EXTREMELY mindful on how you cut your potato in the first place - it can't be tall-and-thin, or when you try to cut your fries, it will tip, and be worthless. The blades are dull - beyond dull - and even on the very first did not CUT the potato, but simply SMASHED it. I was looking at about a 1/3 success rate on actually getting the potato to cut. I am not exaggerating when I say the plastic surround was just as effective at cutting as the metal blades were. When using this product, the plastic surround it actually longer than the blades go, so even when you're done cutting the fries, you're left with a partially in-tact potato, which requires you to flip the cutter over, and use your fingers (against the bladed side) to finish pushing the potato through. Even after it's fully cut, actually getting the potato slices to release from the metal squares was difficult - I ended up having to break about 1/3 of the fries in order to get them out.If I could rate this a zero, I would.

Not good for potatos
Perhaps I had my hopes up too high, but I figured this would cut through a potato like my apple slicer cuts through an apple. It does not. It is very hard to push through a potato. After working on it for a while you can teeter totter it over a raw peeled potato and get through, after all the work, the fries look nice and are all even. However, when its all said and done, its easier to just use a knife and cut carefully to get the uniform fries. I bought this tool to make fry cutting easier, not harder.

Do Not Use For Sweet Potatoes!
When I used it to try and make sweet potato fries, the blades came out of the frame because the sweet potato was too hard to cut through.

Nope....
Flimsy plastic, the piece that holds in the blades halfway popped out while using little bit of a pain to get back in, had to cut the potatoes in half to use them, but still would cut all the way through because of piece that holds the blades in. 2 stars because it would cut but with problems.

Poor design and assembly
Well you sure get what you pay for. This cutter is poorly designed and has faulty casting as the push on cover piece will not stay put and the device fell apart at first use. Suitable to cut hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, soft F&V only. a potatoes is too hard and the blades are not sharp enough. The interior dimensions are too small for anything but a red potato. Suggest paying more for something that works and lasts. Funny how in the description it states that it is simple, hand held, quick and easy with a question mark following that.

Use for small-medium potatoes!
Cutting potatoes went well, some are too large for the cutter however; whenever this happens I find myself trying to pull it back out and sometimes the bottom part becomes unseated. Feels like itโs going to break since itโs thin plastic but it held up surprisingly well. Easy and cheap, just watch the size of your potato!!

Just finally threw it away.
Just finally threw this away. Does not even almost cut through a russet potato. I even googled and found it's easier when you first slice potato in half, to give it a flat edge. Still, no. The plastic part flexes when I try to put all my body weight on it to get it to cut. Only thing it does is give you a guide for cutting with a knife by leaving the grid imprint on end of the potato you are trying to cut. Do not waste your money.
