I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews on this product. Despite the reviews, I bought 6 of these for my family. We have used them several times during our outdoor outings. They appear pretty flimsy when first opened, but once you wash them in warm soapy water (or the dishwasher) per the instructions, they firm up and the springs are activated.If you like to squeeze your cups as you drink, then I guess these aren't for you. They hold a good amount of liquid, and when held gingerly (remember, the sides are rubber, not hard plastic) they are very easy to drink from. The rim is a solid piece of rubber-coated plastic. They open and close easily and, as mentioned, are dishwasher safe. The cap can even double as a small bowl, though it does have small holes in it, so it's not going to hold thin liquids very well, but it is a great little dish to use for small snacks for your little ones.These are a little bigger than I expected (about the size of a hockey puck) and if there was a smaller size available, I may have bought those instead. These are definitely a better alternative to disposable cups, separate-ringed collapsibles, or no cups are all.

But this is a well made collapsible cup, nice green color. The cup needs to be 'activated' by very hot or boiling water poured into it. That releases the memory part of the cup. Opening and collapsing cup requires your attention. For closing: push or press the lid down onto the cup, which them flatens into it's base or self contained coaster. Push or press until you hear a click or snap. The only problem with this cup-it's not for hot beverages, but otherwise, it's a very nice and serviceable travel cup. The lid or top helps the cup to say clean and linit or trash free. So, if that is a problem, this is the only cup that has a lid, and this lid fits tight. If secured properly.

As a child we took the tin version to the beach because the fountain never gave the water high enough. Now Like everything else in the world is made of plastic but serves the purpose. its handy for anyone who has a dry mouth from medication to certain diseases. I lost mine but Amazon's is the right price, the plastic is proof of quality products at quality prices. any mother should not leave home without it

Don't waste your time buying this item .It is a waste of money.It does not expand like it should and it is impossible to get the cover back on onceused. We threw it out.

Don't waste your money on this product.Although it is large in size which would allow you to drink a lot of fluid it is almost impossible to close shut.It's not worth the money I spent.

This is a disaster product. It is hard to open and close. I will never use it. It should not be sold on Amazon.com.

I would not recommend anyone use this product or give it as a gift. Unlike the picture, the sides of the cup wrinkle inwards when it is opened, making the cup difficult to hold and drink from and ugly to look at. Also, the smell of the plastic changes the perceived taste of the drink, even after multiple washings. It can be difficult to close, and after some rough handling, the base came loose from the cup. I wouldn't take another one for free, much less pay for it.
