Couldn't hurt
Purchased and used it once, based on recommendations from a family member. Since I cannot see inside the pipes on my spa, I really couldn't say how much effect a single treatment had. However, I plan to make it part of my regular maintenance because it can only help prolong the life of an expensive piece of equipment.I needed it quickly for a water cycle (I forgot to order it), so I went to buy it from a local spa supply store, expecting to pay more.. Much to my surprise, it was not only cheaper than Amazon, the tax I paid was also lower than what Amazon is now charging. At the time of this writing, this product on Amazon is $23.99 + $2.07 in taxes, along with some strange new "regulatory fee." Locally, it was $22.99 + $1.72 in taxes, no "regulatory fee"... and I had it NOW, instead of next week.Food for thought.

Ingredients not disclosed, instructions are ridiculous
I don't know how to evaluate whether this product works as advertised, but what's on the label is confusing/wrong and the reps weren't knowledgeable/helpful when I called for clarification.(1) They don't deign to list the ingredients on either the label or their website (unlike competing, well-reviewed products, like Sea Klear System Flush, which I'm switching to). As far as the manufacturer is concerned, you don't deserve to know what's in their product. This alone is reason to steer clear of this product/manufacturer.(2) Can't read the label before purchasing, because manufacturer didn't bother to put the full label on their website, or to provide a picture of it to Amazon.(3) Instructions say "[A]llow spa to circulate overnight with jets off." That's impossible. If jets aren't on, the water doesn't circulate. I called and they said what they actually meant is to not run the jets on HIGH speed, run them on Low, but that's not what the instructions say.(4) Can't run the jets overnight on Low anyway, because my spa, like most, shuts the jets off after 30 to 60 minutes. So, instructions *should* say, "Run the jets on the Lowest speed for 8 hours, turning them back on if they automatically shut off after 30 or 60 minutes." But again, that's NOT what the instructions say. Instructions are useless for the goal of helping you use the product properly.(5) Instructions say "Remove the filter cartridge elements." ELEMENTS? What the hell are filter cartridge ELEMENTS? Do you mean just the cartridge? If so, why not simply say so? Instructions are ridiculous.(6) Instructions say to remove the filter cartridge (or its elements, whatever that is), but the manual for my spa says in no uncertain terms not to run the spa without the cartridge installed. The instructions of course don't speak to that, and there's nothing on the website to clarify.(7) Called and asked them to address that. Rep said I could leave the cartridge in while using Spa Purge, but Spa Purge will release bacteria from the pipes and so I should either throw away (waste) the cartridge after using Spa Purge, or clean the cartridge chemically to sanitize it. But spas are typically sanitized with chlorine, and all the spa water goes through the cartridge, so why is that chlorine not sufficient to sanitize the cartridge? Rep did not have an answer for that.(8) Manufacturer also makes a product called Spa Pipe Cleanse, but website typically provides absolutely no clue as to the difference between Spa Pipe Cleanse and Spa Purge, and why you might want to use one versus the other. I called and asked, and the rep said that Pipe Cleanse was for more for pools. I thanked and hung up the phone before remembering that the product is called SPA Pipe Cleanse, not POOL Pipe Cleanse, so Spa Pipe Cleanse is for pools?!(9) Called back and asked to clarify, rep said that Purge has enzymes and Pipe Cleanse doesn't. So I read to him the website that says that Pipe Cleanse has "SMARTZyme technology", which sounds an awful lot like enzymes, does it *really* not have enzymes? He said he'd have to look into it. Of course I never heard back from him.Outside of poorly-translated instructions on products from China, I've never seen a product label as much of a train wreck as this one, and getting clueless reps wasn't surprising after that experience.

Two thumbs up
I ran my hot tub for the first time in 10 years and I couldn't get the water to clear up. In a desperate attempt, i used spa purge before emptying it out and the water has been clear ever since. I highly recommend

Easy to use.
It's easy to use and a quick process (24hrs) unlike many purge chemicals that take a week.
