Dish DVR Cooling Fans for VIP 722/622/922/612, with thermoswitch & Multi-Speed Control

I own a motorhome and subscribe to Dish Network. My RV's entertainment center is just above the windshield, where it is subjected to a great deal of heat during the summer. The heat fried the hard drive on two consecutive Dish 612 DVR satellite receivers several years ago, so I switched to a non-DVR receiver. Now, wanting to return to the convenience of a DVR, I re-visited the option of installing another 612 receiver. The presence of heat is still an issue, so I began looking for a solution. That is when I came across this cooling fan kit. These fans are not the cheapest nor are they the only cooling fans on the market, but I like how they are designed. The cooling fans seem to work as advertised, they move air well and are almost completely silent. It is too soon to rate how well they will keep things cool during the summer, so I will try and update my review at the end of this summer. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

I got this for the Dish DVR VIP 722. The thing was constantly having the fan kick in and overheating then shutting off every once in awhile. I used compressed air to blow the dust out of it, but the issue persisted. Stuck this on the side and the overheating effects went away. It is very quiet and you barely notice it at all when the TV is on. I highly recommend this for other Dish users with this model.

We have our Dishnetwork 722 placed in an entertainment center that needs additional air flow. The fan works fine keeping the unit much cooler and has eliminate shut downs from getting hot. The fan runs quit and seems to be made from quality materials.

This unit appears to be doing a great job so far. I love my Dish DVRs but they're so fragile. This is the perfect solution. Documentation was complete and very easy to understand/follow. Installation of the cooling unit was also very easy. The fans themselves are almost completely silent - the room has to be totally still to hear them running at all, and even then they're a bare whisper. You'll get very friendly and attentive communication from the seller.

Worked like a charm. The internal fan in my VIP612 died, result after about 1 hour, it would stop working. Bought the DVR cooling fans while waiting for DISH to send a replacement unit. Kept the DVR working with no heat build up. Will move the cooling fans to the new unit, they are much quieter than the internal fans.

Installation was easy. Fans work great. We have them on two DVR's that are in confined spaces. This has cured the overheating problems. Customer service and shipping where five star as is the product.Thanks

WOW! These fit the DISH receiver beautifully and really pull the heat from the unit. While this one was made specifically for the DISH RECEIVERS which have a tendency to run hot, these units would be a great addition to the design of all types of AV Receivers. Would receommend.
