This is a true roasted buckwheat. Most of the other options on Amazon are green raw buckwheat. While roasted looses some of health benefits, it's still very healthy full of nutrients and helpful with many health issues. Good option for those who do not like taste and sliminess of green buckwheat. A reward is: nutty earthy taste. Correct cooking is to steam it on slow heat with double measures of water and with some salt and ghee until water is fully evaporated. Awesome with chicken and mushroom creamy gravies.

Before purchasing this I had read a comment from another customer saying that it is not roasted just right for making "kasha". I agree. One needs to roast it again before using it, so there I feel it is not as expected. Otherwise the quality is fine.

the package says toasted but it is not toasted enough. So the flavour is not as i expected. And the freshness level is not so good too.. disappointed with this product.

I have been buying this product for a few years. It is very impressive how it keeps getting better. Although I have always loved this buckwheat I had my expectation exceeded as the last shipment came vacuum packed as a brick. How much fresher can you get? It's been toasted to perfection, now it's next level perfect. Just buy this and stay away from the other sellers nasty raw versions.

I’m Russian, and when I’ve finally found the buckwheat in India I was very happy . It was supposed to be usual roasted brown buckwheat but when I cooked it I’ve seen unusual transparent consistency coming from the buckwheat itself. This consistency is not having any flavor apart from buckwheat and it is quite thick . It is very strange thing and I hope it’s not dangerous or poisonous. I hope to get some respond from the seller of explanation as I can’t find any information of what it might be .

Over roasted. But still the only substitute for Russian Kasha /grichka available in India. The Russian Grichka/Kasha is popular breakfast in the Russian Federation known for the health benefits.The product needs careful cooking as it is made within few minutes of cooking( being already over roasted ) . However can be prepared perfectly as per recipe for preparing the Russian Kasha, available on google.When prepared perfectly , is very tasty and a great substitute for Morning Breakfast ( grains)Hence strongly recommended to purchase the product from the company.

Very nice food item, and can be directly cooked, without using pressure cooker. We can prepare umpa, gruel, bisibelebath, pongal etc. using these grains.
