Ottimo libro, consigliatomi dal mio professore di storia dell'architettura. Nonostante non frequenti una facoltà in lingua inglese mi è stato consigliato per la qualità della pubblicazione.Aggiungo anche che si riesce a studiarlo bene nonostante sia in lingua inglese. Chiaro e scorrevole

有名なハイデンライヒの本です。日本語になぜ翻訳されてないのでしょうか？写真や図版は多いです。カラー写真もありますが、モノクロ写真の方が比率的に多いです。

This book deals on the architectural production in Italy within 15th and 16th centuries, which both correspond to the great revolution in architecture, and culture in general, known as Renaissance, which broke up the apparent stagnation of the Middle Ages and gave rise to various theories on many kinds of art, including architecture. Renaissance influenced all the architecture made in the West until de early 20th century.This book is well illustrated, deals on the major icons of Renaissance treatises, under a logical order and simple language.Excellent book!

Unfortunately this book covers many buildings in some detail but does not provide photographs or diagrams for the majority of these. Indeed for every 4 to 5 buildings discussed photographs or diagrams are shown for 1. If the author would have focused on describing less buildings with more visual aids the result would have been far superior. I found myself, again and again wondering what the building looked like. It is amazing to me this lack of comprehension of the absolute necessity of visual aids when learning about architecture and art in general. Because of this lack of images I cannot strongly recommend this book.
