Southern Biscuit Formula L Biscuit Mix (52 Oz) and Hickory Smoked Country Ham Biscuit Slices, 8oz package

Ham had an almost floral aroma while cooking. It was VERY tasty, but EXTREMELY salty. Next time i WILL take their suggestion to soak in cold water, 30-40 minutes, changing water out for fresh, every 10 minutes. Biscuit mix is awesome, this is my 3rd purchase. I do throw an extra 1/2 tsp baking powder, 2 tblsp cold butter (grated) and 2 tsp sugar in, then full fat buttermilk. And I barely handle dough, except to fold it over in thirds a few times, to create some layers in biscuits. gently pat into a one inch thick oval and cut straight down & up with NO TWISTING of cutter. This will ensure they get magnificent rise. I have my oven at 450, which is its highest temp. If it went to 500, thats what I'd use as per Brenda Gantt's instructions. I throw in 1-2 tblsp butter into preheated iron skillet, swirl to coat bottoms, then pop in the biscuits and back into the oven it goes for aprox 12 minutes or until lightly browned. I brush a wee bit more butter on tops, put back in oven 2 more minutes. Turn off heat and wait a minute or 2 before bringing out. Then they're perfect!I did not yet try the packet of red eye gravy, as it has come up missing in pantry. 🤭 When I locate that, I will update this review.

Love the biscuit mix and country ham! Great value!

Misleading

I admit to being skeptical at first and only purchased to see if made good biscuits. Well I was amazed at the biscuits the mix produces. I now use it for making biscuits all the time. For you poor unfortunates that use tube biscuits here is your salvation. The mix is so simple to use we even use it for camping.

I wanted to see if it makes good dumplings or not, I heard from a friend that it does. Haven't tried it yet.
