I purchased this kit to use with a new porch swing I just bought. The hinged hanging bracket and springs were easy to install and a must if you want a quality installation. The hinge is quiet and smooth. No jerking or squeaks. The nylon washers in the hinge created a quality feel and really created a smooth operation of the swing. The springs are heavy enough not to over extend even with three people on your swing but still light enough to soften the action for one rider on our swing. I am glad I purchased the springs as they really add to the comfort of our swing. Everything was so easy to install and gave added peace of mind by allowing the use of four lag bolts to attach to our beam as opposed to using only two hooks like we have seen others use. The hinge castings were high quality with no rough edges or voids in the casting. Extra attention was surely given to cast the hinge bodies as well as sand/trim the casting joints. I used these on a new swing in a new home that we plan to stay in forever and wanted to use quality materials. I got that with this product and the operation of the hinges and springs were just what I was looking for. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a quality product that will deliver smooth swinging for many years to come. Five stars are well earned on this product and I highly recommend it.

The springs are HUGE!! This is definitely a "heavy duty" swing hanging kit! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there are no directions. It is pretty obvious as to how it fits, but for some people (like me) the porch is covered with no crawl space as to how to put nuts and bolts threw a huge board when you cannot see the board. Hanging a swing is relatively simple, but some suggestions would be appreciated. Especially if the porch ceiling is covered in vinyl siding. I took it off and they was a 3/4" plywood decking underneath with about 200 nails that held the siding. A stud finder is useless since there are so many nails. I know I am not the only person with this problem. I guess I am going to have to cut a "peep hole" in the ceiling to check where the studs are. If this kit is hung right, an elephant can swing! It will be as strong and the screws or nuts/bolts that hold it to a massive board!!Update: The Seller contacted me and sent instructions via e-mail before and after my review. Hanging a 5’ outdoor swing from a treated landscape timber A-frame. Assembly was a piece of cake! The springs are perfect for two adults. I love the sturdiness of the hardware, especially the lockable caribiners.Highly recommend this kit.

Absolutely fantastic product. Both the brackets and the springs are MUCH larger and heavier than they appear in the photos. They are very solid, and the corrosion-resistant coating is very impressive. The springs are a very nice and unexpected touch - they do make the swing more comfortable, although the slight "bounce" takes some getting used to. You will need four lag screws, or lag bolts, washers and nuts to secure to your beam (I believe I used 3/8" bolts). Do not hesitate to buy this set - it is very well worth the cost.

This kit was perfect for hanging our swing. I was headed down a path of using a single eye bolt screwed into the porch ceiling joists, but was concerned about the weight on a single thin bolt. With these mounts I was able to use 2 1/2 inch diameter bolts on each side. The swing is not going anywhere now.The springs work really well too.

You can find less expensive porch swing springs at a big box retail store, however they are noisy and stiff. These are silent and offer more 'bounce' for a more comfortable swing. Also, because there are open hooks on the ends of the springs instead of closed loops it eliminates the need to buy additional S hooks. All in all this is the best value out there.

Big, heavy-duty, and kinda pricey. Four stars instead of five because of price. The holes are spaced too far apart for mounting perpendicular on a 4x4. No fault of theirs, but just FYI. I ended up placing two 4x4s parallel to one another and I used 1/2 inch x 3 inch stainless wood bolts for mounting.

Solid construction. Decided to build a Diy porch swing out of 2x4s and fence panels. This hanging kit was just what I needed. I installed with 1/2 inch lag bolts with pre drilled 3/8 diameter pilot holes. So far swing is holding up pretty well. Springs are sturdy and quiet, they make for a smooth shock free experience. I love this product.
