My First Holy Communion

It is a wonderfully illustrated hardbound book. It is written at an eighth grade level.I'm a catechist and would recommend this for parents and or grandparents to read with the child preparing for Holy Communion. It is a keepsake book to be enjoyed by all who read it. It's a concise review of the Catholic faith- sacraments, commandments, church details illustrated and basic Catholic prayers.

I love this book. It explains our loving relationship with God, Salvation History, The Sacraments, The Mass and much more in just the right way for the child. I have six children. I found this book when I was preparing my 5th for his First Holy Communion. I wish I had found this book sooner so much so that I had all my kids read it for review. And I've gone on to buy this book for my God Son.

A beautifully presented summary of Catholicism. It is written in language that children can understand. Additional features includes information on all sacraments, parts of the Mass, a labeled diagram of the church, and basic prayers. I bought it for my three grandchildren who are making their Communion, and I will give it to them in advance that they will have increased reverence on that special day.

This is the most comprehensive book I've found for a 7 year old with solid Catholic teachings. Both the content and the illustrations are excellent. This is a perfect gift First Communion from a parent, grandparent or close family friend. In addition, there is a place to record information about the happy day!

A good book, but I didn't expect there to be so many Bible stories in it that are not directly related to the sacrament of Communion. I like that there's a place in the back for the first Communicant to write his/her own prayer on First Communion day.

Great book! Well written and easy to read.It provides good information for someone who is going to make his/her First Holy Communion.

This is a nice book for accompaniment with the regular workbook for the CCD school year. My son enjoys reading it during the week leading up to class on Sunday.

Beautifully illustrated, a true keepsake. It will be treasured by those faithful children who are lucky enough to receive it.

I love this book and regularly give it as a First Holy Communion gift. It teaches the Catholic faith in a sound and age-appropriate way. As a trained catechist, I am very careful in choosing resources for teaching the faith. If anyone wants a child who is preparing for First Holy Communion to be well-informed, they can safely buy this book. It is also very attractively illustrated - most important for this age group.

Very well written, beautifully presented. I have looked at a few different versions but this is the best, in another league to the others available.
