SCHLAGELock Company Single Cylinder Deadbolt, Satin Brass (B60 N 608)

I needed a deadbolt that’ll work with my smart Alexa-controlled lock and this item fits the bill perfectly. It is also a perfect color/texture match for my other Schlage locks and door handles. My only complain is that they apparently changed the lock guts for something cheaper - and now the key cylinder is not matching in color the rest of the lock. It only about 1/2” round piece, so it is not a huge deal, but still. Another thing is that there is no drill template with it, so measure carefully as these deadbolts require precise holes for proper work. I like long screws that come with strike plate - the long enough to get screwed in vertical 2x4 inside the wall which adds rigidity to the lock.

Bro, this thing was so effin easy to install I have an entire day to do whatever the flip I want now. The brink sets I've gotten in the past have been a whole conundrum fiasco nightmare time, so I put off changing the locks for a while. But this lil bad boy was up and running in like 10 minutes. Price is worth the lack of desperation, hopelessness and stubbed toes from kicking inanimate objects out of object rage. I'm a cheap B, which is why I've never bought a Schlage (sp?) they're for sure the only brand I'll buy from now on just for my very limited sanity.

I have two of them to secure a 2" thick security door. They were very easy to install and work fine.

I used it to replace cheap builders grade locks.

I like this lock but the reason I couldn't give 5 stars is the key style of Schlage. I hate it. However a file helped with my issue.

Good lock to replace an old deadbolt when we moved it. Easy to install and use. Lock turns easily and fits into existing holes.

WT actual F!? I just opened this deadbolt set, made by Schlage, from Amazon and this is how it was delivered (see pic). For 50 bucks, I get this pile of nuts and bolts with no installation instructions, packaging, etc... I'm not gonna send it back because I need it to secure my shop this weekend and am pretty mechanically inclined so I should be okay installing it. I'm not quite sure if it is used or new! Anyway, this is a very substandard purchase from Amazon that feels like I picked it up used at a yard sale, and I thought you all should know.

The metal plate where the deadbolt goes doesn't match the others. Makes no sense. The other included plates have rounded corners and are wider, while receiving plate has square edges and is narrower. We can't install that plate and need to buy one.Purchased in May and was only just able to install today in October so I can't get any product support. Not very happy.

This is the first time I change a lock myself. Did it in 5 minutes. Surprised myself a little. The only thing was I didn't know the bolt can be lengened/shortened to fit different position of the opening, spent some time there to figure out. But still the whole process took only few minutes. Been a month, the lock works well. Smooth and sturdy. Good buy!!

I purchased a electronic keypad deadbolt and needed to replace the backdoor deadbolt so we didn't need to carry two sets of keys. Along with this rekeying kit,  Prime-Line Products E 2402 Schlage Type C Re-Keying Kit, 5 Pin , I was able to rekey this deadbolt to match the key for the electronic keypad deadbolt. This process only took 15 minutes.After rekeying, installation only took 5 minutes. To be honest, it was easier than I thought. Saved me a lot of money over hiring a locksmith to rekey and change the deadbolt.This deadbolt also looks great. Wife was impressed. Prime-Line Products E 2402 Schlage Type C Re-Keying Kit, 5 Pin

This is a very good buy. The lock has an anti-shimming shield and strike plate reinforcement.Inside the cylinder there are four security pins (tumbler shaped) and one regular pin. The pin wells are not threaded (neither in the core, nor in the plug), so serrated pins would not work. The core plug has four construction key holes.Overall, this lock is quality made and is a big improvement over regular hardware store locks. This is probably the best buy for residential applications, where it makes no sense to buy high security locks because the locks are usually not the weakest link in security.
