Best strings for a mahogany guitar
I was looking for a different sound from my Taylor 322ce grand concert 12 fret (mahogany t/b/s). I had been using daddario phosphor bronze strings for the past year. On the first strum, my guitar really sang! The sound is balanced, and clear, with great projection, and brings out the tonal qualities of the wood. My go to strings for this guitar from now on.

Best Strings for Mahogany or Sapele Guitars
So far, these are my favorite strings for my mahogany guitar. I find that they provide a great deal more articulation of the tone than the your standard strings. The nickel gives the mids and highs a bit more pop and the bass is still very strong. For some reason though, the highs are not too high. I prefer the custom strings with Light Highs and Medium lows.

Works with Pickasso
I typically use coated light guitar strings, but needed an uncoated set for my Pickasso, so I decided to swap to this medium set. They're louder and stiffer than what I'm used to and a fair amount brighter / sharper, perfect for the application. In my head I'd assumed they were brass colored, but they very much silver-nickel toned, matching my tuners!

Favorite for mahogany guitars
These sound great on mahogany top guitars and are my favorite strings for them, and mahogany guitars are my jam.The martin retro monel strings are very similar, but maybe have a bit more depth of sound in the low end, however, the Martins seem to die after a month or 6 weeks. I mean the 5th and 6th strings start to sound muddy and muted and lose their resonance. These are very close to that sound, but last a long time. They don't sound worse, they're almost identical to the martin monel but seemingly keep their sound/tone/everything for a long time. They also don't corrode even though they're uncoated, and are somewhere between coated and uncoated phosphor bronze strings in terms of stickiness/smoothness.I also really like them on some spruce top guitars, in particular a taylor 314ce. but one of my very old spruce dreadnoughts sounds wrong with them, an old yamaha. I also have them on a cedar top seagull and I disliked them at first, buy I think are sounding better after a week or so. Not sure about that one.I say they're made for and really enhance mahogany guitars. They sound so great on both of my mahogany guitars, a taylor gs mini and an all solid alvarez, and I will buy them for as long as daddario makes them for those guitars.People will ask you why you have electric strings on an acoustic guitar, because they're silver (nickel) in color instead of bronze.

Good for a beginner (and beyond)
As a newer player, I still deal with finger soreness, and these strings help minimize it. They’re easy to install, even for beginners, and sound great. On my dreadnought, they offer a warm and balanced tone while remaining bright and clear. I’ve bought these twice and plan to keep using them. I may experiment with heavier guage in the future just to see how it changes the sound, but I am very happy with these as they are.

Let me save you the trouble! D’Addario makes the best strings money can buy!
I JUST LOVE D’ADDARIO PERIOD! You really can’t go wrong with D’Addario products all-around, BUT as far a strings go, they’re unbeatable! Even their low-level strings are better than any other riff-raff out there in the world. I’ve used many brands throughout my musical career, I was a huge Ernie Ball fan (Hybrid Slinky) for a very long time until I saw the light and tried out D’Addario XS guitar and acoustic strings. Ever since then, I refuse to play anything else. So now I am trying their other variations of strings to find that perfect set for me, the hard part is they’re all so amazing in their own way! I even switched my bass over to D’Addario’s! As mentioned, I’ve tried out the XS 80/20s on my acoustic before so I decided to give these a shot! Super smooth playability and such nice warm tone! These strings are tremendously well designed to ensure long playing sessions before they start to sound dull and I NEVER have tuning issues with these as far as string slippage. I don’t even remember the last time I’ve broken a D’Addario string……I tend to just have to change them out due to normal use. Super easy to install and change out, especially if you have the lovely D’Addario string winder/cutter/bridge pin puller tool (seriously, it’s that awesome GET ONE!) ooooooh they also have a collapsible neck rest too that makes it so much more easier for guitar maintenance. Don’t get me started on the string changing mats too…..I…..I need to stop, I know, I’m sorry. No, they don’t sponsor me, I just really appreciate their products lol. These strings are decently priced considering how long they last! You can also get their 3 pack base-level nickle wound strings for an excellent price just to have backups. Once you use D’Addario, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about, you’ll understand why they have the following they do.
