The paper insert that came with this mattress referred to a "slight smell" that would be present after opening. Understatement of the century! It reeked. I let the mattress air out outside for a day and a half, and it still smelled by the time I had to bring it inside. Several days later, and the smell is much, much more tolerable, though still present.I gave the mattress about 48 hours before sleeping on it to let it puff out, but that didn't seem to be quite enough. Now that I've had it for roughly a week, it's much, much more comfortable. It never rose to 8 inches thick, though; it's much closer to ~6". (This is a complaint I have personally seen on a lot of futon mattresses across the board, though.)I am satisfied with this mattress, and I do like it a lot, but the smell was truly awful. If you are sensitive to smells, perhaps prone to migraines as I am, please do take this into consideration before purchasing.

It's not as firm as I thought I was buying. It's too soft since we use it as our couch. I bought the 10-inch pad hoping for sitting comfort. Next time, I will check the description a lot better since I wanted it to be more mattress like with the firmness I like.

Ordered an 8” mattress and after letting it sit flat for a week hoping it will decompress and fluff up, it is barely 5” thick. Very disappointed.

Stinks like carpet padding.Not firm enough to prevent feeling the frame. There is no bounce to it. The consistency is more like a pillow than a mattress.It'll get you by but if you want quality get something else. If I could do it over again I'd choose one with memory foam in it.

Well there's nothing I disliked about this mattress I just loved it and it wore very well I think it's been over a year now and I still have it

This Futon Mattress is wonderful. It made my futon feel like a real sofa or a bed. It is very comfortable and fits the futon frame I have perfect. It is heavy and well made. I like the fact it is tacked all over so there is no chance for the stuff inside to shift or get lumpy. Great mattress and I give it 5stars. Company doesn't release it is a futon. Very Very Pleased. Thank you
