This is a VERY stylish and VERY well-made wallet. It is constructed with high-quality materials and is excellently stitched. I have little doubt that this wallet, despite its stylish looks, will be rugged and durable over the long haul.It really stands out--literally and metaphorically--because it's made of genuine stingray leather. This unusual leather gives it an extremely unique and conversation-starting quality.Compared to most typical leather wallets, this one is in fact a bit on the shiny side, made more so by the stingray leather's very cool and distinctive pebble-like texture. Now I'm certainly no bling-type guy, but I don't find the shine excessive or off-putting. I find it rather subtle and stylish. But in any case I wouldn't be surprised if the shine is dulled the more and more the wallet is used. (I'm just not sure about that...yet.)In terms of its size, I find it just right--meaning it's a very common and standard size, perhaps except for its slim-line profile (which I personally prefer). Nonetheless it is quite spacious, with sleeves for at least 8 cards/licenses, 4 general purpose compartments, and 2 separate compartments for bills or receipts, etc. It's worth mentioning that the 2 bill compartments are separated by a very nice and well made leather-tipped silk divider--which is a classy and well-thought-out touch.The only "negative" I can mention is that, as of this writing, the Stingray Wallet unfortunately does not come in its own box. Here's hoping the maker will see fit to begin putting this stylish wallet in its own stylish box--which it truly needs and deserves, given its high quality and great potential as a gift.I highly recommend this beautiful, classy, and unique wallet. Funny story... So, I bought this wallet and once it arrived, I unpackaged the wallet and was very pleased with the overall appearance, quality, size and feel. My husband walks into the room and wants to see the Stingray. He announces that he'd really like to have this wallet and runs his hand over the bumply skin and examines the inside (which has a cool stingray figure debossed.) Soon, my daughter sidles up alongside and wants to have a look for herself. She thinks it's kinda cool, all except for it being made of real stingray of course. Next, my son inquires of the billfold. Now, he really likes it, especially because it's made of real stingray... after all a stingray killed one of his heroes--Steve Irwin. I was thinking that I rather liked the wallet myself. What to do? Toss a coin perhaps? By the time the idea of coin tossing arose, my son had successfully claimed the bifold and was nowhere to be seen, having already retired to his room (with the Genuine Stingray Leather Bi-fold in hand..!)Okay, so I did receive this handsome wallet for a discounted price in exchange for an honest unbiased review. Not to worry... this product is the cat's meow, the bees knees, or maybe more correctly the stingray's tail! It truly is a smart looking, high quality, and handy bifold. The only downside (for some) is the shiny finish of the external leather. This is a result of the process used to tan and dye stingray leather. Since the surface is bumpy and the finish is so glossy, it almost has a sparkly look to it. That could be a drawback for "manly-men" who want everything to look rugged and masculine. But if you were looking for that, you wouldn't be looking at stingray leather wallets!The big benefit to stingray leather is its durability. It's so durable, in fact, that one of its most famous uses was to cover the handles of Japanese katana swords. It gave excellent grip even when wet, and held up under heavy use. I believe I can expect many years of service from this wallet.The card slots inside the wallet are pretty tight when it's new, which is to be expected with any new wallet. Of course I'd rather have them start off a little tight and gradually expand to fit the cards I have in them, than to have them start off too loose and let my cards fall out.I like that there are two currency compartments, since it helps to keep everything organized. Overall this is an excellent quality wallet that I'd recommend to anyone who doesn't mind the glossy finish.
