Thickly padded, well fitting, heavy duty cover.
I can't say I've had a lot of purchasing experience when it comes to ironing board covers. Prior to this one, my only recollection is a t-shirt jersey kind from a big box store that was mostly terrible. That being said, I'm really happy with this ironing board cover. 99% of my ironing is for preparing fabric for sewing, quilting, and embroidery, including iron-on transfers, so I knew I needed something a little more heavy duty than standard. I used it to try it out before reviewing. I will update as needed.A nice surprise right out of the package was how substantial the included pad is. I am very pleased with the included pad.I was disappointed to see that there was only a drawstring mechanism for fitting the cover onto the board. Most of the "premium" ones I'd looked at prior to deciding on this one mentioned velcro, straps, etc. This is clearly stated in the product details, I just missed it. However, upon actually trying out the drawstring mechanism, I was super impressed with how well it worked. I have an IKEA board (approximately 48" x 15") with a built-in iron rest, and I was afraid there might not be enough room between the rest and the ironing surface to fit the fabric, but that also worked out just fine. I *might* get the under-board clips just in an abundance of caution, but with how well the drawstring/toggle system works, I think it's optional. It would only be because of my awkward iron rest if I do decide to do that, not a fault of the cover at all. When I got it out of the package, I put it on and pulled the drawstring, but not as tightly as I could, so I could press the ironing board cover a bit, just wrinkly from being packaged. I mention this because I wanted to note that upon my iron touching the cover, there was a distinct chemical smell almost like a dry cleaning chemical smell; however, it wasn't particularly unpleasant, and it was just a quick waft and immediately dissipated without recurrence. Just a small warning if anyone is very sensitive, not significant enough for me to reduce the rating or not recommend the product. After pressing and adjusting the cover as evenly as I could, I then pulled the drawstring as tightly as possible and fastened the toggle, and found it was a remarkably smooth and taut fit. As I mentioned, I might get clips, but, again, that's only because of my weird ironing board. I really do not think I'd need them were it not for the iron rest. It's a taut, smooth, thick, and sturdy ironing surface.I used Pellon 300 Thread Count Cotton Fabric for Embroidery, 20 by 24-Inch, White to test it since I'd ordered it at the same time. I figured it would be a good test as it was packaged in a small square so was full of very stubborn and large creases. It's possible I was just enchanted by having such a fancy new ironing board cover, but I really feel like this made less work of those creases. I use a starch alternative for really bad creases like that, and I did so in this case, as well, and it really worked beautifully with what seemed like much less effort than typical. The reflective sections really make themselves known when pressing out creases, too, it's no joke. All I all, I'm very pleased with this ironing board cover. As mentioned, it's not something I've had reason to buy frequently, but I'm glad I chose this one and would definitely recommend it.ETA: It didn't occur to me to compare this to my ironing board without it as opposed to trying to compare it to other covers, which I don't have experience with. My ironing board without it is mediocre at best with a near non-existent padding under the cover. This cover makes my board a premium awesome ironing board and blows the stock cover entirely out of the water. If you're looking to upgrade a board that, like mine, is aesthetically and functionally acceptable but came with a crappy stock cover/pad, I would highly, highly recommend this as a significant upgrade. I have used it only a few more brief times since my original review and I'm still very happy with it.

Not usable
It is impossible to get this cover on the board. The only method to tighten it is with a drawstring. I gave up after hours of trying to pull the strings through. I ended up getting a cover at a discount store. I bought this to replace the one that came on my board because it developed a small tear. That cover came fitted on the board. I threw this one away as I had no use for it.

Too thin in the skin
The cover fits and looks great but the pad is so thin I can see the texture of the board top in everything I iron

Who designed and manufactured this piece of crap?
What a Joke: Non cinching cover, material will tear like paper. Take note of the poor ratings and do not buy unless you plan on using at least 9 large paper filing clips in order to hold the cover on.

Poor fit.
Very poor sloppy fit. The "toggle" string around the edge does not cinch the cover tight leaving wrinkles and allowing the cover to slip off easily.
