The Moonshine Rod Co. Epiphany 2wt 10’ 4” euro nymphing rod has great sensitivity, allowing you to feel every rock, pebble and take. I fish very technical water with shallow riffles to deep pools with every size rock imaginable. This rod has helped me become more successful while fishing. I highly recommend the rod for tight line nymphing. Bonus the rod comes with 2 tip sections!

Delivered without the third section! This rod is supposed to have an extra rod tip end, but totally useless without the third section! Of course Moonshine has NO phone number to contact them with and I have no time to be sending emails back and forth, so returning it. Not sure how this happens, but one end of the clear plastic bag over the tube was frayed and looked like it perhaps was resealed.

Purchased the 2wt 10'4" Epiphany rod. Looks great! Took it out and tight line nymph fished it a couple times already. Much better than I had expected at this price. Overall very happy with this purchase.

If you are in the market, you are probably looking at the Echo and Orvis models in this price range. I chose this one as I wanted the fighting butt, and the extra 4” over a 10’ was a bonus. Its a great looking rod and light for its size.The only thing I’m disappointed in is sensitivity. It just doesn’t give much feedback as the anchor fly hops along the bottom. It seems very muted. The Orvis clearwater seemed a bit better. If the 2wt Echo came with a fighting butt I would have gone that route as my first purchased euro rod, the balancing system is a nice bonus.The thing is, IMO you can get better rods on sale and I’ve not seen the Epiphany ii on sale. Right now the Orvis Recon 2wt is on sale for $298 and the G Loomis 2wt is on sale for $349. I now have the GLoomis and have fished them back to back and its a noticeable difference in feel. A bit heavier at 3.2oz, but its the most sensitive rod I’ve used so far. Epiphany II is a nice rod, just think there are better bang-for-the-buck rods that can be had for $300-ish.

I bought a previous edition of this rod two years ago. A 10' 2W. And it has been amazing every step of the way. I have got it caught in trees and yanked it pretty good. I've scrambled through berry vines and fallen into boulders. This thing is well made. But at the same time, it has unbelievable feel and sensitivity. The tip protects against large fish. I mostly fish small streams and mid-size rivers for 8-18" trout, but I was near a Steelhead stream this time last winter. I only had this pole. And on that day, when all these spey rod fishers lined the shores, I waded out as far as I could, and landed 2 Steelhead. One was 24 inches and one was 26 inches. So, about 4 and 6 lbs respectively. And after a long good fight on 5x, possibly 6x, I landed both. And walked out the only person I seen who had landed a Steelhead within the past two hours, and it was on this 2W.I have other rods. But this one is just that rod that is like that sentimental stick that becomes an extension of your hand. I catch more fish than other fishers because of this rod and my intuition and determination to get wherever I need to cast in the water I like.I have lost tip sections by my own fault. And this company has one stocked and sends one out you'll receive it from the time you tell them in about 3-4 days. Amazing customer service.I only come here now because they have served my needs so well people need to know about this brand.
