Spring Clamp LED Lamp which I hope keeps my curry-leaf plant alive during this winter!
The media could not be loaded. Winter is almost here - which means for us plant lovers that we have to pay extra attention to those plants that have to be protected from frost, snow, chilly weather or in my case, a plant that requires a lot of light. Yes. The curry leaf plant thrives in tropical climates - which means that it requires minimum 8 hrs of sunlight per day and also requires warm temperatures. So, towards the end of this fall, I took the plant indoor in order to keep it warm. To take care of it's sunlight requirements, I ordered this lamp. Yes, I do realize that this lamp is meant to be clamped on to a desk and used for desk plants. But I decided to take a different approach and clamp it on to the handrail of my stairs and use it on a moderately bigger plant. I'm not entirely sure that this would be entirely effective. I promise to update my review in a couple of months - with the news of my plant's well being! As of now, I'd like to write a few points that I felt as soon as I received and tried to set up this lamp:~ The product arrived on time and in perfect condition. No damages at all. As the holiday season is approaching, Amazon has started rolling out the holiday packing that I love, so Yaaay (pictures included)!~ As of now, the lamp works perfectly. The On/OFF switch is in a perfect working condition too. The spring clamp is a little hard to open but it clamps on to the surface (in my case - handrail) firmly. Once you attach the clamp, the lamp remains immobile (unless you try applying a huge force in which case it would definitely dislocate).~ Even though this lamp is meant for desk plants, it does provide enough light to cover my curry leaf plant, which is moderately big. But as to whether or not this lamp is effective enough in keeping my plant alive, this is a little too early to be answering that question. I will update my review in a couple of months!~ The only problem that I felt was that the user manual is a little vague. This is a spring clamp lamp - easy to set up. But the user manual provides 3 different methods using which you can clamp the lamp. The first method is to clamp it on to a surface like a normal spring clamp, which is what I have done. The second method is where you have to fix the clamp using a screw (provided with the lamp). This method is a little vague as I have illustrated in my video and I have decided not to follow this step as I feel that this might damage the wire (Video attached with this review). The third method is sticking the clamp on a flat surface using a double sided tape - I have not tried this either.~ The spring clamp can be opened to a maximum thickness of 50 mm.~ Warning - The surface of the LED lamp - right outside the bulbs, gets highly heated within a few minutes of switching ON. Please be careful regarding this issue!Update after 2 months of use:The grow light works fine. My places are alive. And since it is possible to adjust the position of the lamp easily, I'm able to use this for my other plants as well. And they are all alive. But I did make it a point to shift my plants towards sunlight whenever it was possible!

Powerful light
I set this light to reign over my sweet potato plants, clamping it into the shelf. It provides a nice warm purple glow over the room in the night. I've noticed that under the influence of this light, the leaves are especially lush and flourishing. This is an excellent price for such a nice product.

Good for seed starts, though a little hot to the touch
I got this because I had some seedlings I was trying to raise from peat pots, and I needed to raise them in a protected environment; once they sprouted their seed leaves I couldn't keep them in the tiny plastic tray greenhouse they come with, so I moved them to a closed with this light. (They're catnip seedlings, so keeping them in a place the cats couldn't reach them was important.) And they're doing great! The light is nice and bright, and since it doesn't have the IR spectrum radiant heat that incandescent growlights do, I can keep it quite close to the seedlings without burning their leaves. The only downside of this lamp is that because it doesn't shed heat through IR radiation, the head near the LEDs does get pretty hot to the touch. It's not enough to burn you, but you don't want to touch it for more than a second or two. A more solid head with some heat-sink fins would have alleviated this issue. But since I rarely reposition it, it's been fine. The neck is plenty stiff to hold its position, and the clamp is plenty strong to support the lamp, with rubberized grips so it doesn't slip. I've got it clipped around a wooden hanger rod in the closet, and it hasn't shifted at all.All in all, the seedlings are happy and so am I.

Lasted 6.5 yrs @ 12hrs/day
Pink light! Set up on an auto timer in late 2016 and it just died this year. Works great.. Plants lived under it but I don't think it is strong enough for major growth, sunstressing or increasing variegation. I just wish I could replace the bulb vs throwing the whole thing away.

It REALLY does the job!
This little light is really working hard on my aloe, which has been struggling for months. After about 5 ish weeks of this light, Allen is having a baby! And thriving :)

Should Advertise as PINK LIGHTING! JS... Kept for 2 hrs. Color is purple pink & makes plant UGLY
May grow great under these lights however the the color of the LED is totally unnatural & truly makes Mr.V the trap look so ugly... I will just return these & buy the bulky version I already have for my others I guess 😅 ofw..

Low cost, highly effective
Overall, great purchase for my one basil plant. I wanted to save my plant after the summer, and being in a north facing apartment meant that the winter would be too dark inside for my basil to grow. I saw other reviews that the light was very hot, so I set the light up on a smart plug timer so it will cycle on an off for about 6 hours a day to make sure it wouldn’t roast my plant. But I have come to find out the it’s not the light intensity that is hot, but the physical lightbulb that gets hot. I have also noticed a lot of new growth on my plant, which is exciting because I love using fresh basil in my cooking. Overall, if you are looking for a compact and effective grow light that won’t cost a small fortune, I recommend this one.

The light shines white and you can direct it where you need it
I like this grow light because it only shines white, like a regular light bulb does. Keep in mind though, that it has just LED bulbs. These will help a plant grow, but isn't as good as a bulb with the white, red and blue waves. Even with that, because of the two lights, it has helped my 'string of pearls' to thrive (it's hard to direct light on all sides of it. I usually have it in the window, but my camera takes pictures the best on my stove lol). Each of the gooseneck arms bend in any direction you'll need with ease, and they stay in place. The clip that attaches it to surfaces up to 1-1/2 to 2 inches is very strong and holds well. There is an on/off switch for each light. The only thing that's a small drawback is that the cord is only 4 feet long, so I have to use an extension cord.If you can take a chance on a 'used' product. I bought mine for much less than 1/2 of the original price. It stated that it was in 'good' condition. When I opened it and checked it out, I found nothing wrong with it. Both lights work, so I'm very happy with my purchase!

It single handedly rescued couple of cyclamens that used to look terrible. Now those are dark green with red stems
This light works very well. The package that came to me was tiny, so tiny that I thought it was a joke. How wrong I was. The 'pink' light produced by this unit is bright and every plant I put under responded well. It single handedly rescued couple of cyclamens that used to look terrible. Now those are dark green with red stems. Even the flowers have beautiful colors. The clam is of very high quality and the goose neck doesn't have any give, so it stays exactly where I set it to be. The head gets warm but not too hot to touch. I plan to buy more in the future.

Works well, purple colour is a bit weird
I've had it for a few months now and the plant it's shining on is clearly much happier than it used to be, and growing quite well. The lamp clips handily on to the bookcase and is easy to manipulate and position. The only thing is, because it's a purple light, it gives the green leaves a sort of weird murky colour and the plant itself doesn't look that attractive while the light is on. On the bright side, I have a small disco ball that I put next to the plant and so now I get cool purple splashes of light around my place. I guess whether this plant light works well for you will depend on your taste and decor.

Great!
This is a wonderful grow light that is slowly but surely helping to revive a cactus that belonged to my deceased grandfather that we thought was hopelessly dead without a chance of reviving it. The plant was one of his pride and joys, with beautiful bright flowers on it year round so I will be THRILLED to see it alive and thriving once more. The light was easy to set up, and I've created a little growing corner for not only the cactus but several different plants I am starting from seeds. One thing to note, the bulb and casing around the bulb get QUITE hot to the touch, which is no different than any other light bulb on for an extended period, but worth mentioning as it's easy to forget when you attempt to adjust the light just how hot it can get.

Light colour a jarring, distorting pinky fuscia.
The jarring colour of the bulb distorts the plants it shines on. It is a fuscia/pink and does nothing for the plant. I have grow lights that are simply white and enhance the colour of my plants.

Works wonderfully for the price
Works wonderfully for the price. I have it at work to give my succulent a little extra light that it might not get. Clips nicely to my monitor and doesn't heat up too much externally.
